I was worried that it might have been forgotten, but they surprised us with a special arrangement, which became a wonderful memory. Thank you for the commemorative gift as well. We did this cruise on the last saturday in December, and had so much fun! The food was tasty, the sake and beer was abundant, and the staff was charming. The whole activity was family friendly, and we saw people with small children and grandmothers in tow. We were lucky to be in Tokyo when they had fireworks on the rainbow bridge, and it was the best fireworks I’ve ever seen! There was also a traditional entertainer on board, who engaged everyone in a couple of party games. Although we didn’t understand everything that was happening, everyone was gracious and several people in our group took part. I would highly recommend one of these cruises.

The food was great, the drinks were plentiful, staff were very attentive and best of all, the crowd was very local, not touristy at all. The only downside of this was that all commentary was in Japanese but the views of the bay pretty much spoke for themselves.

The facility itself was located in a corner of a building and had no charm at all, but it was a great opportunity to see the maiko up close. I think the Q&A session was a rare chance. I learned about the struggles of the maiko. I was surprised at how composed they were, even though they are still in their teens. The photo session, dance viewing, and a little bit of geisha play were very memorable.

The weather was bad, but I was able to enjoy the event on the boat and relax. The staff were kind. If I have the opportunity, I would like to use it again. The food is satisfying as long as you don't have overly high expectations.

Most of the items are pre made and you simply need to put them together with some simple instructions. Good for family activity. Samples turn out realistic! They have many selections for kimonos, so you can customize the color/pattern you want to wear. And if the weather is a bit harsh, you can rent a coat also. Standing by the canal in kimono makes you feel like you're a time traveler. Definitely should try it if you can spare some time!

I used the sunset cruising service during my trip to Okinawa. The reservation was easy, and the food was really delicious. Since it was my child's birthday, I ordered a cake, and they surprised us by bringing it out. There was also live music, which made for a fun time. Thank you very much. I would like to use this service again if I have the opportunity.

There was a mistake about the time of the reservation. I booked for 6pm and we waited for over an hour because the 6pm dinner cruise was not available. Apparently only the 7 pm dinner cruise is available on weeknights. Veltra did confirm our booking at 6 though. There was definitely a disconnect.

Once we got onto the boat, things were good. We had a good time and the atmosphere was fun.

I had the pleasure of spending a delightful time with the real maiko, Fuku Yuri, from the tea house and accommodation Horihachie in Miyagawa-cho, while enjoying a catered lunch bento. She performed two elegant dances for us, "Kyoto no Shiki" and "Gion Kouta," and even answered our questions about being a maiko. Not everyone got to experience it, but we could enjoy a taste of the luxurious tea house entertainment (Konpira Funafuna) and feel like a wealthy patron. Plus, photography was allowed, and we even got to take a two-shot with her!

If you're visiting Kyoto, this is a must-do! It's a low-barrier event, perfect for first-timers, so I highly recommend it to everyone!

Lastly, unlike the occasional fake maiko you might see, the real maiko are rigorously trained in etiquette, so their presence and demeanor are truly different from what you'd expect from someone in their teens!

舞妓さんは宮川町 堀八重(お茶屋兼置屋)の”ふく友梨”さんが来てくれて、昼食の仕出し弁当を食べながら”ホンモノ”の舞妓さんと楽しいひと時をすごさせて貰いました。
華麗な装いで、たおやかな舞を二曲も（今回は「京の四季」と「祇園小唄」）披露してもらえて、舞妓さんに関する質問にも答えてもらえたり・・・全員ではないですがお茶屋遊び（こんぴら舟々）でお大尽気分を味わえたり？・・・それに撮影フリーですし、おまけに2ショットまで撮ってもらえちゃいます～！

Advanced reservation was totally worth it.

Tickets were waiting for us so we could skip the line. The event it self was totally worth it. We got decent seats, not the best...we booked 2 weeks in advance so I'd recommend booking earlier if you want the good seats.

Tea ceremony was worth it, it's a bit rushed and can't see much if you're not in the first 2 rows, so try to wait by the entrance to be the first ones in. You get a small amount of good matcha, a little sweet thing and you get to keep the saucer the it's served on.

We didn't pay any extra free for booking via Veltra so props to Veltra for this!

10/10 would book through Veltra again.

I reserved my place weeks ago before the dance and when i came the womens from the office where not nice at all.
I went into the theather and i had to seat on A PLASTIC CHAIR. Really ?
I paid 4000 yens and everybody has a confortable seat and me not.
This is not possible. Yes it s touristic but please...

After that the dance was nice , i mean special. I recommaned because we can t see this everdays. The old womens who sang and played instruments for the geisha and meiko were really goods.

This was an amazing experience even without understanding Japanese. The Geiko and Meiko performed dance/acting performance to a set theme and live music is also played. Some of the stage backdrops were very beautiful as well. At the end they threw signed a fabric with all the names of the performers out and we were lucky enough to catch one. I highly recommend going to a performance like this at least once!

Amazing. When I arrived I was directed to the counter where the reserved tickets were, I then went to watch the tea ceremony, which was amazing. Then we were led to the theatre, I was given a seat in the front row - the odori was amazing - great dancing, beautiful costumes, music and singing was amazing. If you are in Kyoto in early November please go to this.

This is legit, I printed voucher from home and presented it in Gion Kaikan 30 mins before tea ceremony and show. Tickets and seats were prepared and got good seats.
Show was okay, would've been better if they talked about the geisha culture prior to show start. Tea ceremony is okay, it's a classroom type arrangement and the geisha/maiko doesn't necessarily serve you.
