It was held in a small workshop located in a residential area. In the workshop, 3 other families were creating ramen (Chinese noodle) and tempura. Our children were really excited. We made a reservation for the parfait-making plac. The instructor taught us very politely and we did not have to worry (As our child is an elementary school student, we worried she might have some difficulties making the parfait).
It was fun to see that the parfait slowly taking shape. Our child was also happy to see it. We had a great time as a family thanks to this experience. We would like to do this again. Next time we will try making the ramen and tempura.

I had been wanting to experience a traditional town house in Kyoto, and I happened to find this tour. I participated in the Full Course (Plan A) with my American partner. Since we were the only two participants at that time, it felt like a private tour.
I was born and raised in Kyoto, and it felt like I was being guided through my grandmother's house, which was very enjoyable. My partner was dressed in a simple kimono and was thrilled to pose with a toy sword! The tea ceremony was also a wonderful memory, experienced in a charming town house.
It seems my partner had a great time with the traditional town house experience and has grown even fonder of Japan. The guide, a lovely woman, patiently explained everything in English to my partner's various questions.
Finally, we had a traditional lunch featuring a bento from Tomitaya. Since pickles were the main dish, my partner, who isn't fond of them, left some behind, but they were very happy to have eaten traditional Japanese food in a historic town house. I love pickles, so I enjoyed them very much.
If I have the opportunity to guide someone from overseas again, I would definitely like to participate in this tour once more. Thank you very much.

We participated as a family. We were blessed with good weather, and the night view from Harumi towards Tokyo Skytree was wonderful. The food was, of course, luxurious, and the tempura, sashimi, and takikomi gohan were all incredibly delicious. It was satisfying for both my parents in their 70s and for us as a couple. Since it was all-you-can-drink, we ended up drinking a bit too much. I heard that every weekend, there are fireworks in Odaiba for 20 minutes, and we were lucky enough to see them this time. Watching the fireworks from the yakatabune was extraordinary and the best experience. On days with fireworks, the course lasts for two and a half hours. The staff were friendly and very kind, creating a comfortable atmosphere. We were able to get along with other customers on board and had a wonderful time. I would love to participate again if the opportunity arises.

The Western couple who were in the same course also seemed very pleased, and we got excited saying we definitely want to recommend this to others!
Since they provided guidance in English, my burden was lessened (as I have many questions about Kyoto culture), and I was able to fully enjoy the experience.
I will definitely use this again when foreign guests come next time.

While reading a novel set in Edo, I really wanted to wear a kimono and walk around the downtown area, so I made a reservation here. The studio had many international customers, including people from Taiwan and Thailand.
Although the studio isn't very large, there are plenty of kimonos to choose from, to the point where I was almost overwhelmed. The staff provided great advice to help me quickly decide on hair accessories and an obi. The fitting was speedy yet thorough, with just the right amount of tightness so that it wasn't uncomfortable to walk. The hairstyling was simple but cute, with lovely braids.
This time, I decided to add the photo shoot option. We started the shoot by walking from the studio to Senso-ji Temple. The photographer was very friendly and shared a lot of information about Asakusa, almost like a guide. My husband, slightly nervous in his hakama, and I, feeling a bit shy in my kimono, were able to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere thanks to the pleasant conversation.
There were New Year's decorations, creating a unique atmosphere in Asakusa during the year-end and New Year period. I wondered if there were couples like us in the Edo period as we enjoyed the hour-long photo shoot.
Even without the photo shoot, I think the price is a great deal for kimono rental with hairstyling, allowing you to wear it until the evening. It would be nice to see more variety in men's kimonos as well.

I previously took a yakatabune cruise in the summer where we enjoyed all-you-can-eat monjayaki, but this time it was winter. I wondered how it would be, and it turned out to be a great choice with hot pot and tempura! We even got to enjoy the night view and fireworks! It became a wonderful memory for the end of the year.
■ From the station to boarding
It took about 2-3 minutes to walk from Kachidoki Station, and after crossing the bridge, it was easy to find the meeting place as there were many people gathered. I confirmed the boat with the staff from Harumiya, and boarding started about 15 minutes before departure. We were able to smoothly enter the boat after placing our shoes in the shoe box.
■ Meal
There were name cards on the table, and the food was already prepared. As soon as I sat down, a chilled bottle of beer was brought to me. The sashimi and hot pot were delicious, and the tempura was served fresh and crispy! I was very happy. After rice and pickles, there were fruits and shiratama dessert as well. I was completely full.
■ Fireworks and night view
That day, there were fireworks for the last time this year, and we could enjoy them up close for 10 minutes starting at 7 PM. It was cold on the sky deck, and I was shivering, but the sky was clear and beautiful. The night view of Odaiba, the neon lights of the yakatabune, and the Rainbow Bridge were mesmerizing, and it was very soothing.
■ Service
After enjoying everything, about 30 minutes before the end, the staff came around to greet each table. There were guests celebrating recovery from illness and passing exams, and at the end, we received a gift from Harumiya. I heard that if you inform them in advance, you can receive special services for anniversaries. I thought I would like to use this for family anniversaries or dining gatherings with friends next time.

I don't usually write reviews, but this was really great. I went with a group of friends, and everyone had lots of fun. The hostess spoke perfect English, and was so welcoming. She explained everything (about the sights, food, drinks) in both English and Japanese. The fresh tempura was really good, and they kept the drinks coming!
We were super lucky too, because in December (on Saturdays) there are fireworks. If you can go on a Saturday in December, I really recommend it. Make sure you go out onto the roof, because seeing all the colorful boats on the water was really pretty.

I took my first ride on a yakatabune (traditional Japanese houseboat). It wasn't planned, but it happened to be just before Christmas. I thought yakatabune was mainly for enjoying the food, but I had no idea the illuminated night views could be so beautiful!
You can leisurely enjoy the Christmas-lit Rainbow Bridge, Fuji Television, and Tokyo Skytree from the boat. At photo spots, you can go up to the deck and have the stunning Tokyo illuminations all to yourself! It felt much more elegant than going to see the illuminations in the crowded Odaiba.
Of course, I was very satisfied with the food as well. After the kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal) and hot pot, we had freshly fried tempura! Although the boat was full, the staff efficiently served the freshly fried tempura one dish at a time. The portions were generous, enough to satisfy even men. It was really delicious, but I ended up leaving one dish because of the volume. I'm sorry...
Perhaps because it was the year-end party season, the boat was full. There were families, couples, and girls' gatherings, as well as tourists from Canada and Singapore. I was also impressed by the tour guide, who alternated between fluent Japanese and English, wearing a hachimaki (headband)! The powerful English spoken by the lively Edo-style lady was so impressive that it could be considered a highlight of the experience.
At the end, they sang a birthday song in perfect English for a guest celebrating their birthday, which was spectacular!
I boarded the yakatabune with expectations, and it truly exceeded them! I can recommend this to family, friends, and everyone.

Every year, I enjoy wearing a kimono at the end of December. This year, I used Kim's Sakura Photo Studio again. As always, the dressing time was incredibly quick! There were two of us, and the total dressing time was about 30 minutes, so it went by in no time with two staff members assisting us. The variety of kimonos in terms of colors and patterns was abundant, even more so than last year. I chose a somewhat subdued colored kimono with a flashy obi, accented with pink. We entered the studio at 10:30, and our free time started at 11:00.
First, we filled up at a sushi restaurant where the tuna is cheap and delicious, then we enjoyed the retro atmosphere and Dutch coffee (cold brew coffee) at the long-established café Angelus, which opened in 1946. Finally, we had a great time at the Asakusa Engei Hall enjoying a variety show. The afternoon show at Asakusa Engei Hall ends at 4:10 PM, so if we listen until the end and return to the studio, we can easily make it back by the kimono return time of 5 PM.
I rarely have the opportunity to wear a kimono in my daily life, but it’s a nice change of pace. With this service, there's no need to buy a kimono myself, and I can enjoy various styles, so I think it would be fun to invite my close friends for a kimono girls' gathering in Asakusa.

We participated with our family of four, all of us experiencing a yakatabune for the first time, and we were excited about this unknown adventure.
The route for the day included spots like the Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, and Odaiba. The view from the boat was, of course, wonderful, but the interesting trivia shared by the staff added to the enjoyment.
The food was plentiful, featuring sashimi and tempura, and it was quite filling. As a family that tends to eat a lot, we were a bit concerned about the portion sizes, but it turned out to be unnecessary worry. With an all-you-can-drink option, I enjoyed some alcohol while my family was very satisfied with juice.
There was also a birthday celebration for one of the participants, and a boat selling ice cream made an appearance, adding to the fun events of the day.
Most importantly, the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. My son has a food allergy, and I consulted them about it right after boarding. They responded kindly on the spot and even checked the details just to be safe. When my son mentioned wanting to eat rice with his other dishes, they quickly understood and prepared the rice for him in advance. They provided various other services as well, always with a smile, which we greatly appreciated.
I’ve written a lot, but the best part of the day was seeing my son, with a camera around his neck and holding chopsticks and juice in both hands, exclaiming with a big smile, "This yakatabune is the best!!"
It was a thoroughly satisfying two and a half hours that flew by.

On boarding the boat, I was greeted by young high-spirited ladies wearing a towel around their heads. I was impressed by their cheerful greetings both in Japanese and English.
I enjoyed beer and delicious dish right away. They cooked Tempura on the boat. Freshly fried tempura was served.
We were able to stop by tourist spots and enjoy the view from the boat at Odaiba. It was a good us to choose this day ,because the weather was great and we really enjoyed it!
A wide range of people were on board, there were tourists from Tokyo, the locals and travelers from overseas that were all introduced by a friendly young lady which made the vibe very lively on board!
It was nothing like just taking a ordinary boat, instead, it was as if signing up for a Japanese house boat tour with a tour guide on board. I'll definitely use the service again when next time my friend visit Tokyo!

<Meeting Point>
In the morning, “Harumiya” called me and we could confirm the meeting point and time so we did not have any worry about it. There were staff wearing happi coats in front of the pier.Boarding started about 15 minutes before sailing time.
<Ship>
There were two rows of sunken kotatsu tables. Families, couples, small groups shared the boat. We were close to each other, and immediately got along with the people around, it was a harmonious atmosphere.
<Meals and Drinks>
The starter was a Kaiseki meal, then Japanese Nabe. A variety of Tempuras were served. Everything was delicious. The freshly cooked Tempura was the best since it was very cold mid-winter. For the passenger aged under 5 years old there were no meal served, however, parents could share their meals because of the volume of food. There were a lot of choices in drinks, all included in the ticket price.
<Night Scenery>
The night scenery from Tokyo Bay is really beautiful. When the ship stops, you can climb up to the sky deck, and take in the magnificent view. It was during the Christmas illumination period, so Tokyo Tower, Rainbow Bridge, Fuji TV main office, and Tokyo Sky Tree all lighted up in Christmas mode. I just happened to see the fireworks of Odaiba which are held on Saturdays!
<Service>
The staff of the houseboat was amiable. Going out with small children is often troublesome. However, this houseboat excursion was very good. Staff was welcoming to small kids and entertained them. Parents could relax and enjoy the event.
Initially I was worried about the houseboat trip in winter. But it was great. I would like to go again in warmer weather.

First of all, the studio is conveniently located, only 1-3 minutes from Kaminari-mon on foot. As it’s a rented room in a building, it was hard to find it. When we went inside, Kyonming spoke to use politely. The studio is small, but Kyongming made us really cute. We wore elegant kimonos with Nagoya obis. I recommend the Nagoya obi highly.
They arranged my hair simply and put 3 hair accessories on my hair! After putting Kimono on, it's time for a photo shoot! I was so excited about getting photographed and making many poses in Asakusa! Please have a look at pictures I attached! We had free time until 5 so had a stroll in Asakusa. However, tourists looked at us, they wanted take our pictures like paparazzi, so we were in many pictures with people from many countries for their souvenirs.
It was the best experience ever. I would love to do it with my friends again! You should try it at least once, as it is a rare opportunity to take pictures of you wearing Kimono at this price!

I was asked by a western tourist if he could take my photo. I was very pleased with her service as I would recommend it to any lady to when in Tokyo. Asakusa is an appropriate location.

Trying this out was definitely one of the best decisions I made during my trip to Tokyo. The photo studio had a wide range of choices for kimonos with matching hair accessories. I liked how Sakura-san did my makeup and how she directed the photo shoot. Asakusa was lovely, I wish I could have allotted more time for this activity as there were so many nice places to see and stop by! I really hope I could do this again when I visit Tokyo.

"We had an excellent experience at Seisouji. We arrived at our scheduled appointment and were immediately greeted by a very friendly staff who showed us a few choices of kimonos to choose from. Once we chose our kimonos, my girlfriend and I were greeted downstairs by a rickshaw that gave us a very nice tour and dropped us off close to Seisouji, where we walked around and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon, receiving many random compliments from strangers. It was a very fun experience, and I highly suggest it to anyone looking for a fun afternoon in Asakusa. The staff spoke and understood very good English, so communicating was never a problem. :)"

I participated on the last day of my trip to Okinawa. Since I couldn't swim in the sea during winter, I was satisfied just to be able to go out on a boat. I was also very pleased with the shrimp for dinner. An attendant was singing Okinawan songs in front, which allowed me to enjoy a relaxing cruise.
Thank you for boarding, Yuko. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the last night of your trip with the cruise. If you have the opportunity, please also experience our summer BBQs. West Marine

One of the most anticipated experiences in Japan was wearing the traditional kimono. I didn't know there were so many things needed to complete a kimono. We walked around Asakusa and all the tourists were clicking their cameras. I felt like a celebrity. It was a very good experience I can never forget.
