Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. I've lived in Japan for over four years and had been on quite a few sake tours, but this one was the best by far. Super easy and comfortable provided you have decent walking shoes. The tour itself had ample opportunities to taste and buy along the way. We also had a surprise stop at an excellent tofu house with probably the best veggie croquette I've had in Japan.

Our main guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, explaining everything in a way that everyone could understand. Additional staff also helped out as our group was slightly larger.

Overall, a wonderful experience and surely everyone with an open mind and palette will have a great time.

There were many school trip students, and I thought it might be a bit challenging before it started, but there were assistants who taught us patiently. I think the time allocation was good and not too busy. It was also a great idea to include the matcha tea afterward. I enjoyed tasting the sweets and matcha. The timing was perfect as we checked out just before our return Shinkansen.

I wonder how it is in this intense heat with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees for several days. Contrary to my worries, the riverside was very cool with a nice breeze. I'm not a fan of river fish, but I ate the grilled young sweetfish whole, starting from the head. The skin was delicious, and I didn't mind the bones at all. Enjoying a beer while listening to the sound of the river was delightful. It's definitely summer in Japan from the afternoon.

I used a shuttle for the outbound trip. For the return, I took the city bus for 230 yen (though it takes some time). I was disappointed that I didn't realize how convenient the bus was, as I didn't have a sense of the distance between the city and Takao. I would have appreciated it if there had been some information about that somewhere.

I also visited the "Bird and Beast Caricatures" (it's 1000 yen per person), and I was able to spend time leisurely without encountering many overseas visitors.

連日35度越えの猛暑の中どうなんだろう。
そんな心配をよそに川床は、風が抜けて非常に涼しく過ごさせていただきました。　
川魚は苦手ですが稚鮎の塩焼きは頭から食べました。皮目が美味く骨も気にならず美味しくいただきました。川の音を聞きながらビールをゴクリ。
昼から日本の夏ですね。
