This year's extreme heat made the riverside terrace surprisingly cool and impressive. The shuttle service was also great. I would like to use it again around autumn.

今年の酷暑の中、川床はびっくりするくらい涼しくて感動でした。送迎有もよかった。また秋ぐらいにも利用してみたいです。

I went with my daughter who grew up overseas. It was nice to learn some trivia through a little quiz.

However, I did have a few concerns. The pace of the explanations was a bit fast, and I found the volume of the voice a little too soft to hear clearly.

When the staff were carrying the teaching materials, the space between the seats was a bit narrow, so I think it would be better to have a more spacious arrangement.

It was a very enjoyable experience to eat the nerikiri we made along with matcha.

ちょっとしたクイズがあったら、豆知識的なことをしれて良かったです。

声の大きさが少し小さく聞き取れなかったです。

スタッフの方が教材を運ぶ際に

もう少しゆったりとした配置にした方がいいなと思いました。

During my short stay in Kyoto, I looked for experiences that would allow me to savor Japan. International guests prefer tours that are not solely for overseas visitors; they enjoy tours that Japanese customers can also appreciate.

The riverside setting wasn't cool, but it was a very lovely location where I could enjoy watching the maiko, making it a truly valuable experience. It became a wonderful memory for my family.

川床は涼しくはなかったですが、とても素敵なロケーションで
舞妓さんの鑑賞もでき、とても価値のある体験ができ嬉しかったです。

The serving staff that took care of my table was very experienced with the food and did her best in explaining to me in English and with my limited Japanese (staff was fluent in Japanese and Spanish, but I was not, hehe). Was a very fun and educating on the food, how to eat and also the history of the cuisine. She paid attention to the table and served when she saw that we were finished with some plates. She was an older lady but I felt like she worked like a young lady.

Presentation of the food is done very beautifully, taste is delicious and well seasoned. Interesting tastes and combination of the culture of Okinawa.

The dancers were very elegant and skilled, I enjoyed all of their traditional dance styles and their garments. They were very well dressed and looked very cute up close when we were taking a picture.

Very thankful to the level of service, cleanliness, quality and quantity of food. I thoroughly enjoyed the tastes of Ryuku Cuisine.

Will come again if happen to visit Okinawa again and want to taste the food once more. Might bring more friends, too.

It was my second time, and I had a great time. Thank you. The red bean paste is delicious, so I would like to experience it again in a different season.

It's an easy-to-start experience with traditional Japanese sweets. I'm happy that it's conveniently located and not far from the station. It seems like it can accommodate a large group, so I would like to recommend it when my foreign friends come to visit next time.

手軽に始める事ができる和菓子体験です。
便利なところにあって、駅からも遠くないのが嬉しいです。多人数も入れそうですから、今度外国の友達が遊びに来る時はおすすめしたいです。

I participated with my colleagues from work. I had a great time listening to the explanations alongside tourists from abroad. However, it was difficult to shape the nerikiri because I struggled with the right amount of pressure (I'm clumsy). I would love to participate again! Thank you very much.

I signed up because my elementary school child loves matcha and wagashi. It was great to be able to do things we can't easily do at home, like making nerikiri and whisking matcha. We had a wonderful experience together as a parent and child. Thank you very much.

I made a reservation by myself. The process is not difficult, so it's fine even for first-timers. I wore disposable gloves while making it. Since it was seasonal wagashi (Japanese sweets), I'm curious about other times of the year as well. It's close to the station, so I recommend it as a stop while sightseeing.

1人で予約しました。工程は難しくないので、初めてでも大丈夫です。使い捨ての手袋をはめて作りました。季節の和菓子だったので、他の時期も気になります。駅近なので、観光ついでにおすすめです。

I experienced this with foreigners. If you're not familiar with wagashi, just being given a lump of red bean paste might not give you a clear image of it. We were only shown photos, not the actual items. That day, there were two types: tulips and rapeseed flowers. They were supposed to guide us through the process one by one, but when they started teaching a group that arrived late, the instruction for our group became quite neglectful. A 9-year-old boy started crying because he couldn't make the tulip petals well. A 13-year-old girl seemed unsatisfied no matter how many times she tried and kept remaking it. Materials fell on the floor, and the gloves for hygiene became difficult to use because they got stuck with the red bean paste, so in the end, they were working with bare hands. I thought to myself that this couldn't be eaten since they started without washing their hands. As a Japanese person, I thought the taste was good. However, I felt it was too difficult for the children.

外国人と一緒に体験しました。和菓子というものを見慣れていないと、あんこの塊だけ与えられてもイメージが湧かないと思います。
実物は見せてもらえず写真のみ。この日はチューリップと菜の花の二種。一つずつプロセスを追って教えてくれる、はずが、後から遅れてきたグループに教え始めたら、我々のグループへの教え方がおざなりになってしまいました。
9歳の男の子はチューリップの花びらがうまく出来ず泣き出しました。13歳の女の子はいくらやっても納得いかないらしく、なんども作り直していました。材料を床に落とすし、衛生の為の手袋もあんこがくっついて使いづらくなり、結局素手でやっていました。手も洗わずに始めたので、これは食べられないなあ、と思いながら見ていました。日本人としては、味は良かったです。でも、子供には難し過ぎると感じました。

I made wagashi (Japanese sweets) from the morning. It was a relatively easy course, but I found it challenging and focused hard on it! It was a perfect course for those who have never tried making wagashi to give it a go.

比較的簡単なコースでしたが、難しくて集中してやりましたよ！和菓子作りやったことない人がお試しでやってみるのにちょうどいいコースでした。

It was my first experience making wagashi (Japanese sweets). It was a simple activity that allowed us to enjoy some basic shaping with a few tools. Since I didn't have much time, I took one home and left the rest. The sweet bean paste wasn't too sweet and was tastier than I expected. There were times when my daughter couldn't hear the explanations because a group of male students who arrived late were talking too loudly. I understand the excitement of having fun with friends on a trip, but I wished they could have been a bit more reserved, and I would have appreciated some guidance from the instructor.

道具を少し使って簡単に造形を楽しめるものでした。時間がなかったので、1つ頂いて残りを持ち帰りました。餡が甘過ぎず想像より美味しかったです。遅れて来た男子学生グループのお喋りが大声過ぎて、娘は説明が聞こえない時があったとのこと
友達と楽しい旅行で、盛り上がる気持ちはわかりますが少し控え目に、インストラクターさんからの注意も欲しかったです。

I visited as a reward for myself and my mother. On the day of our visit, there was snowfall, and we arrived about five minutes late, but both on the phone and in person, we were greeted warmly.

The view of the garden from the room felt like time had stopped due to the snow. Even during zazen, I could hear the sound of melting snow, and afterward, my mind felt very clear.

The shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) was also very delicious.

The monk seemed busy. He had returned from Tokyo the day before and went out somewhere before we left. Perhaps due to his busyness or the cold, there was no samu (work practice).

During the dharma talk, I was asked if I had any questions, and I was so caught off guard that I couldn't answer, which was very disappointing. Next time, I would like to take a bit more time to study before I go. Thank you very much.

自分と母へのご褒美に訪問させて頂きました。
当日は積雪があり、到着時間が5分ほど遅れてしまいましたが電話先でも訪問した際も快く対応して頂きました。

居室から見えるお庭の景色が、積雪でより時間が止まったような感覚がありました。坐禅中も雪解けの音が聴こえ、終わったあとは頭の中がとてもスッキリしました。

精進料理もとてもおいしかったです。

前日に東京から戻られ、私たちが退出する前にどこかへお出かけされました。
忙しさからか、寒かった為か作務はありませんでした。

また法話の際に何かありますか？と聞かれ、突然の事で何も答えられずとても残念でした。次回はもう少し時間をかけて勉強してから行きたいと思いました。ありがとうございました。

It's conveniently located near the station, and you can easily make fresh sweets, so I recommend it. I would like to take some home, but since they might fall apart, I think it's better to eat them there.

駅近でお手軽に生菓子を作れるので、おすすめです。
持ち帰りたいとこですが、崩れそうなので食べて帰るのが良いと思います。

This was my third time, and my husband’s second time participating. Since the theme was seasonal nerikiri, we can enjoy it every time we go. This time, it was after the beginning of spring, so we made shapes of a bush warbler and plum blossoms. Shaping the bush warbler was difficult, and all the participants created unique works. The instructor asked questions about wagashi at just the right moments, encouraging everyone to participate and respond, which created a sense of unity and a very homely atmosphere. After finishing our creations, we shared our works with each other, which was delightful and friendly. This is why I keep coming back. I will participate again!

私は3回目、夫は2回目の参加でした。
季節に合わせた練り切りの題材のため、何度行っても楽しめます。
今回は立春を過ぎた日でしたのでうぐいすと梅。
うぐいすの形を整えるのが難しくて、参加者の皆さんも個性豊かな作品を作られていました。
先生がタイミングよく和菓子に関する質問を投げかけ、全員参加型で回答するため、一体感がうまれて、アットホームな雰囲気がとても良く、作品を作り終わったら、参加者同士で作品を見せ合うなど、和気あいあいでこれが良い。何度も通ってしまうわけです。
また、参加します！

I made two types of nerikiri, a traditional Japanese confectionery.

Although they didn't turn out exactly as I had imagined, I grew fond of the finished pieces, and it was a lot of fun. It's also great that you can eat them fresh on the spot.

和菓子の練り切りを2種作りました。

なかなか思ったような形にはなってくれませんが、出来上がった作品は愛着が湧いて、楽しかったです。
出来立てを、その場で食べれるのも良いです。

We experienced making nerikiri and the tea ceremony as a couple. In the session we attended, there were also families with children and male participants. The instructor made it easy for beginners to understand by working alongside us to finish our creations, so it was clear how much of each ingredient to use. The instructor went around to each table, checking on everyone with a sample in hand. We also learned about the tools and the four seasons in Japan, which was great for experiencing Japanese culture. During the tea ceremony, each participant was provided with the necessary tools, and we were able to prepare matcha sourced from Kyoto, allowing us to enjoy a graceful time. I would like to participate again.

夫婦で練り切りとお点前を体験しました。参加した回では親子連れもいて、男性の参加者もいました。初心者でもわかりやすいように、インストラクターさんも一緒に作品を仕上げていく方法で、見ながらできたので分量の具合もわかりやすく、インストラクターさんは各テーブルを回りながら見本を手に参加者のみなさんを確認してくださっていました。道具の説明や日本の四季の説明など日本文化にも触れられて、そんなことも学べたのは良かったです。お点前も一人ずつ道具が揃えられ、京都から取り寄せた抹茶を点てていただき、優雅な時間を過ごすことができました。また、参加したいと思ってます。

We participated as a group of four, with a parent accompanying both my third grader and my three-year-old. They provided professional-grade tools, and the kids were in high spirits. The explanations were clear enough that my elementary school child was able to complete the activities independently. The three-year-old seemed to enjoy the sensory experience, sitting through the entire session with parental support. They found the tea to be a bit bitter, which was an exciting experience.

Aside from us, there were mostly adult foreigners who actively asked questions, creating a great atmosphere. I learned that the themes change about 24 times a year, and I would love to participate again in a different season.

小3と3歳児にそれぞれ親が手伝いで付き添い、4人で参加しました。
本格的な道具が用意され、子どもたちの気分も上々、わかりやすい説明で小学生の方は1人で完結出来ました。3歳児も粘度のような感覚のようで、親のサポートを受けながら最後まで座っていました。おちゃがにがかったーと刺激的で楽しんだ感想でした。

私達以外は、ほぼ大人の外国人の方で積極的に質問されていたのもよい雰囲気でした。
年に24回ほどテーマが変わるとのこと、また別の季節に参加してみたいです。

It was an activity that could be enjoyed by children as young as 6 and mothers in their 70s. The explanations were easy to understand, and we had fun creating things.

I had the opportunity to watch the Ryukyu dance up close in the front row. After the performance, they prioritized photo opportunities for us over other group guests, which was a great value.

琉球舞踊を最前列近くで拝見しました。
終演後の写真撮影も他の団体客より優先してくださり、お値打ちがあります。

I experienced making nerikiri for the first time. In my session, there were a total of four women, including one young woman visiting from Germany. It lasted about an hour, but perhaps because I was so engrossed, it flew by in no time. I was kindly taught and had a great time, making it a wonderful experience! Thank you!

初めて練り切り作りを体験しました。私の参加した回はドイツから観光の若い女性1人を含む女性計4人でした。1時間ほどの時間でしたが、夢中だったためか、あっという間でした。親切に教えてもらい楽しい時間を過ごすことができ、良い経験になりました！ありがとうございました！

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. I've lived in Japan for over four years and had been on quite a few sake tours, but this one was the best by far. Super easy and comfortable provided you have decent walking shoes. The tour itself had ample opportunities to taste and buy along the way. We also had a surprise stop at an excellent tofu house with probably the best veggie croquette I've had in Japan.

Our main guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, explaining everything in a way that everyone could understand. Additional staff also helped out as our group was slightly larger.

Overall, a wonderful experience and surely everyone with an open mind and palette will have a great time.

There were many school trip students, and I thought it might be a bit challenging before it started, but there were assistants who taught us patiently. I think the time allocation was good and not too busy. It was also a great idea to include the matcha tea afterward. I enjoyed tasting the sweets and matcha. The timing was perfect as we checked out just before our return Shinkansen.

Time allowed was good for each section. The explanation was patient and detailed. The demonstration was good, so I could understand what they wanted to say even though they didn’t spend time in English.

修学旅行生が多くて、始まる前はちょっと大変かなと思いましたが、アシスタントの方もいて丁寧に教えてもらいました。
時間配分も忙しくなくよかったと思います。
そのあとおうす茶も付けて正解でした。
お菓子と抹茶を味わえて良かったです。帰りの新幹線前にちょうどチェックアウトした後でタイミングもピッタリでした。

The service from the tour guides was absolutely wonderful! Both the departure and arrival were on schedule, and the lunch course was stylish and delicious, which made me very satisfied! We were originally planning to participate as a group of three, but unfortunately one person couldn't join us due to health issues at the last minute, so I hope to go together next time!

The explanations were thorough, and I was able to enjoy the experience. I wonder if using a snug-fitting type of cooking gloves would have made it easier?

It's more affordable than other places, and while it's geared towards foreigners, I think Japanese people can enjoy it casually as well.

An instructor from abroad guided us. They spoke polite Japanese and always had a gentle expression, which made them approachable. The experience and atmosphere were great, so I would like to recommend it to others. Thank you for the experience!

I went with my Japanese and foreign friends.
It would have been nice if they explained in English as well.

Even for someone like me who is clumsy and not good at cooking, I was able to enjoy it without feeling that it was too difficult.

I participated in a matcha and nerikiri making experience for the first time this time. Not only did I drink tea and make nerikiri, but I also learned about the tools I was using and some interesting facts about matcha and nerikiri (Japanese sweets), which made me feel like I gained some knowledge. Some people mentioned that the experience was a bit fast-paced, but I was able to keep up just fine. There was also a helper besides the instructor, so I think there's no need to worry. It was really fun to see how what I made came together! The time flew by! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

今回初めてお抹茶とねりきり作りの体験に参加しました。
ただ、お茶を飲んで、ねりきりを作るだけではなく今回自分が使っている道具はどういった物なのかや、抹茶やねりきり(和菓子)などのちょっとした豆知識などを教えてもらい、教養が身に付いた様な気がしました^ワ^
体験は少し速いと言っていた方もいましたが、私は、ギリ付いていけました
先生の他にもサブの方もいらっしゃったので、心配ないと思います。
体験も自分が作ったものがこうなっていくのかと作っていてとても楽しかったです！
時間があっという間でした！！
