The entrance is somewhat hard to find, but I don't think it's a big problem since the staff is standing by. The experience was shared with another group, but the tables were separate. Due to infection control measures, I wonder if the windows are open? You can see the Sumida River from the windows, and it feels very pleasant. You practice with a practice glass before carving your own glass, so I think it's less likely to make mistakes.

体験は他のグループの方と一緒でしたが、机は別々でした。
感染対策で開けている？窓からは隅田川も見え、とても心地がいいです。
練習用グラスで練習してから自分のグラスを削るので、失敗もしにくいと思います。

I participated in the 1:00 PM session on a weekday. It was my first time experiencing Edo Kiriko, and I had a fantastic time! There were many sample glasses on the table, and we started by choosing the shape, color, and design. The colored glasses come with an additional fee, but the basic glasses are at the same price.

The instructor carefully taught us how to carve, and afterwards, we had the opportunity to practice individually, so there’s no need to worry even if it’s your first time. They also draw guideline lines for the patterns, so you’re not creating everything completely on your own.

After this experience, I truly appreciated the incredible skills of the artisans. I realized how meticulously everything is made. That said, the glass I carved myself has its own charm, and I am very satisfied with it. I quickly bought some Hakkaisan and enjoyed delicious sake.

There were five participants, and the room was cozy, but everyone was wearing masks and seemed to be enjoying themselves. There is a shop on the first floor.

江戸切子は初めてでしたが、すっごく楽しかったです！机の上にたくさんのグラス(見本)が置いてあり、形や色・デザインなどを最初に選びます。カラーグラスは＋料金がかかりますが、基本グラスはお値段そのままです。
先生が丁寧に削り方をレクチャーしてくれて、その後に各自練習ができるので、初めてでも心配ありません。柄も目安になる線を引いてもらえるので、全部ひとりで作成するのではないので大丈夫です。
今回体験してみて、職人さんの技のすごさを改めて実感しました。すごく丁寧に作られているのだと思いました。とはいえ、自分で削ったグラスも味があって、私は大満足です。早速、八海山を購入して、美味しく日本酒を頂きました。
参加者は5名で、部屋はこじんまりとしていましたが、皆さんマスク着用で、それぞれ楽しんでいるように見えました。1階にお店があります。

Some locations can be difficult to find, but the thorough lectures and the emphasis on independence during the experience will undoubtedly create lasting memories. It brings me the greatest joy to have something I created remain as a cherished memory. The design is free, so surprisingly, children might come up with more creative ideas and produce masterpieces. Sightseeing isn't the only aspect of travel. I highly recommend the experience tour.

場所が見つけづらい所もありますが、
丁寧なレクチャーと、自主性を重んじた体験は、思い出に残ること間違いない。
自分の作成されたものが、思い出の物として残ることが何よりも嬉しい。
デザインは自由なので、意外にも子どもの方が発想力に翔んで傑作が出来るかも。
名所見物だけが旅行ではない。
体験ツアーオススメです。

I experienced Edo Kiriko for the first time, and since it was taught carefully in a small group, I was able to make a glass. They also allowed video recording, and there was a nice spot to take beautiful photos of the finished piece. I would love to do this again.

初めて江戸切子を体験したのですが、少人数で丁寧に教えていただいたのでグラスを作ることができました。
動画撮影などもOKとのことで、できあがったものを綺麗に撮影する場所もありました。

This is the second time I attended an Edo Kiriko glass cutting class here because I like the art very much! The Japanese teacher is very patient and fluent in English. Glass cutting is not easy, requires very stable hands and super attentive! Finally I made a very beautiful glassware. Thank you and for sure I’ll come again!

I went to an Edo Kiriko experience on February 19. It's very accessible since it's just a short walk from Asakusa Station, and the experience fee is reasonable.

Regarding the glass selection for the Edo Kiriko experience, I was told that beginners should avoid glasses with dark colors. However, I really wanted a red or blue glass, so I chose blue this time.

At first, they let me practice on a practice glass, which helped me prepare mentally before the actual work. However, depending on the pattern I chose, it took a while, and I felt rushed because I couldn't finish within the experience time. I hope they can provide a bit more time before the next participant arrives.

Even though I rushed to make the glass, I feel attached to it since it was my first creation. The result this time was the worst, so I plan to go back for a revenge attempt! Thank you very much.

2月19日に江戸切子体験に行ってきました。
浅草駅からすぐなのでアクセスも良いですし、体験料金も良心的です。
江戸切子体験のグラス選びですが、初心者は色の濃いグラスは不向きとの事です。
ですが、どうしても赤か青のグラスが欲しかったので、今回は青にしました。
最初に練習用グラスで削りの練習をやらせてくれましたので、いきなり本番ではなく、心の準備は出来ました。
ですが、選んだ柄によっては時間がかかりますので、体験時間内に終わらず焦ります。
希望としては、次の体験の方が来るまでの余裕の時間をもう少し長く設けて欲しいと思いました。
焦って作ったグラスですが、自分で初めて作ったので愛着がわきます。
今回の出来が最悪でしたので2回うちにリベンジ行きます！

I may be clumsy, but thanks to the teacher's careful instruction, I was able to create something cute.

The room felt a bit small, but since there were four of us, it had a cozy atmosphere!

It was also great that they provided boxes and bags for takeout.

持ち帰り用に箱や手提げも用意してあり、とても良かったです。

I wondered if I could do it after watching the polishing lecture, but it was enjoyable because it was taught in a friendly and fun manner. (*^^*)

Really recommended experience for anyone looking to take a deep breath in the traditional Japanese arts! Yoshiko and Yoshiichiro are very kind and welcoming, and work hard to make you feel comfortable. They're also incredibly talented at kintsugi, and are excellent at showing beginners how to get started.
The tea and sweets make you feel like at your (japanese) home!

Yoshiko and Yoshiichiro were great hosts! I had a lot of fun. They taught us the basics of kintsugi and showed us what materials we needed if we wanted to do it on our own. They are super knowledgeable about ceramics and pottery of all kinds as well and are eager to answer any questions you have. I cant wait to get home and break my own cups and bowls.

I have always thought of food samples as an image of Japanese culture since I was a child. It was a lot of fun to have the experience of making such food samples. This time, I made a seafood curry rice that can be used as a smartphone stand, and I was impressed by how closely it resembled the real thing. I will definitely try again if I have the opportunity!

こんな食品サンプルを作る体験ができ、とても楽しかったです。
今回はスマホスタンドになるシーフードカレーライスを作りましたが、本物そっくりに作ることができ感動しました。
また機会があれば再挑戦します！

The workshop is easy to locate. The instructor was very patient and encouraging. It was an eye opening experience for us and make us appreciate the difficulty and precision needed for hand made cut glass. Encourage all to give it a try, no matter the outcome.

We experienced this as a family of four, with my husband and our two daughters, who are a working adult and a high school student. It was definitely not something easy, but with the help of a kind, attentive, and fun teacher, we struggled through and managed to create something we were satisfied with. There was a booth set up for photographing our creations, and it was truly a thoughtful experience. We had a fun and memorable time.

主人と社会人・高校生の娘２人の４人家族で体験させていただきました。
やっぱりそう簡単なものではありませんでしたが、親切で丁寧で楽しい先生に助けてもらいながら、悪戦苦闘の甲斐あって、自分なりに満足なものが出来上がりました。
作品を撮影するブースが用意されていて、本当に至れり尽くせりで、楽しくて思い出深い時間を過ごさせていただきました。

It was difficult, but it was interesting to see personalities come out. Colored glasses are challenging. Next time, I want to adjust with clear glasses. I will definitely go again!

First, I chose a glass and practiced the carving technique. After that, I selected a beginner-friendly design, sketched it out, and carved the glass. I couldn't carve as well as the sample, but I think I did quite well. Even if I made mistakes, I received advice, which allowed me to come up with my own solutions. Those who struggled with carving difficult lines had the staff help them with corrections.

The staff's explanations were easy to understand, and I was able to get started right away. There were also foreigners present, but the instructions were given in English, so anyone can participate.

This time, I used a clear glass included in the experience fee, but next time I would like to try a colored glass for an additional fee. Since the room isn't very spacious, it's better to wear a mask.

まずグラスを選び、削り方の練習をしました。その後初心者向けのデザインから選んで、下書きをしてグラスを削りました。見本のようには削れませんでしたが、結構うまくできたと思います。失敗してもアドバイスがもらえるので、自分なりに工夫してできました。難しい線を削るのに失敗した方は、スタッフの方に修正してもらってました。
スタッフの方の説明がわかりやすく、すぐできました。また、外国人もいましたが、英語で説明されていたので、どなたでも体験できます。
今回は体験料に含まれている無色透明のグラスでやりましたが、今度は有料の色付きグラスでやってみたいです。
部屋があまり広くないので、マスクは着用した方が良いです。

Excellent staff who spoke good English. The craft itself is interesting and intricate, and I was told about the history of plastic food and the materials used alongside getting the hands-on experience crafting a very realistic Japanese curry. It's an offbeat activity all ages can enjoy, and something very unique to Japan. I found the price very affordable and would recommend anyone to go. 10/10.

The instruction was very easy to understand. Even when I made mistakes, the teacher covered for me, and I was able to produce a very good piece of work.

I only learned of Edo Kiriko Art a few days before arriving in Japan. I was very excited to see a workshop to make your own glass.the workshop was in English and we were able to practice before making our own creations. They also have a little photo studio set up to take nice photos of your glass afterwards. Overall a very fun experience and have something unique to take home.

The teacher was very kind and taught us thoroughly. I participated with a friend. I had more fun than I imagined and was very satisfied. On the way back, we even talked about coming again together.

We participated as a family, and each of us was taught carefully, allowing us to complete the project successfully. The children were able to experience one of the traditional crafts, and it seems they were able to appreciate the skill of the artisans and the importance of passing down techniques from various perspectives. We immediately started using what we made at home, and it seems to have become a favorite.

家族で参加しましたが、一人ひとりに丁寧に教えて下さり、無事に完成でしました。
子供達に伝統工芸の一つとして体験させることができ、職人さんの凄さや、技術の継承など色々な視点で感じることができたようです。
早速家に帰って使っています。お気に入りになったようです。

Despite being about 30 minutes late due to my circumstances, I was able to participate (although the time was shorter). The design, which seemed difficult at first, turned out to be manageable, and since it's not something I can do often, it was a very valuable experience that became a great memory.

でも難しそうに思えたデザインも案外いけましたし、中々できる事ではないのでとても貴重な体験をさせて頂き、良い思い出になりました。

Do not miss this amazing experience. Yoshiichiro and Yoshiko take you on a memorable journey into an ancient art form and offer a glimpse into the Japanese culture that most tourists miss entirely. I had seen an article on Kintsugi long ago and the whole philosophy behind it fascinated me so I sought this out when I came to Japan to visit my son. Choosing the right person to instruct you is critical, and this lovely couple could not have been more welcoming. I was greeted with smiles, delicious tea and homemade Japanese sweets and felt right at home. Their method of instruction, with a nice balance between verbal and written instruction in English and hands on demonstration was perfect. And I was given the piece of pottery I repaired, lovingly packaged for the trip home. I am confident I could not have chosen a better option for this activity elsewhere. I plan to continue my Kintsugi learning journey; In fact, I went out the next day and purchased the supplies with the help of Yoshiko and I am excited to begin my first project after arriving home.

I made a reservation on the day and participated. The location was very easy to find; as explained, after climbing the stairs from the subway exit and coming above ground, you just go right and it's right there.

As mentioned in other comments, the instructors were very polite and good at giving compliments (laughs). Before the actual event, we could practice, and they paid close attention to each person. If someone wasn't doing well, they kindly provided guidance on the causes and solutions.

After practice, you choose the materials you want to create. If you want to stay within the basic fee, you can choose a clear glass (there are several shapes and sizes available). If you're okay with additional fees, you can also select a colored glass (prices are displayed on the materials).

The guinomi I chose was 990 yen.

I realized the difficulty of straight lines (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) during practice, so for the actual event, I went with a leaf pattern, which could be done by just pressing it on. Even so, it didn't go exactly as I envisioned, but I enjoyed the process of making it, so I'm satisfied.

Once finished, you can take stylish photos with the light shining on it, just like in the pictures.

It was a great experience.

当日に予約して参加しました。場所はとてもわかりやすく、説明にある通り地下鉄出口の階段を登って地上に出たら右に進んですぐの所です。

他の方のコメントにもあるように、教えて下さる方はとても丁寧かつ褒め上手（笑）。本番の前に練習も出来るのですが、1人ずつ細かく見て下さり、上手く出来ていなければ、その原因と解消方法を丁寧に指導していただきました。

練習後、実際に自分が作りたい素材を選びます。
基本料金内で収めたければ、透明のグラス(形や大きさは数種類あります)追加料金が発生しても良ければ色付きのグラス(価格は素材に表示されてます)も選べます。

私が選んだぐい呑みで990円です。

練習で直線(縦横斜め)の難しさを実感したので、本番は押し当てていれば出来る葉っぱ柄にしました。それでも思い通りにはいきませんでしたが、作る事が楽しかったので満足です。

出来上がったら、写真の様にライトを当ててカッコよく撮影もさせてもらえます。

いい経験が出来ました。

I made a reservation in the middle of the night the day before. I was scared it would break if I applied too much force, but the glass was thicker than I expected, and I thought that applying the right amount of force was the key. However, I wasn't able to do it well until then, and I wanted to try again. At first, I wasn't particularly interested; I chose it because I could get a reservation, but it turned out to be more fun than I expected.

前日の夜中に思い立って予約しました。
力をいれると割れそうでこわかったけど、ガラスは思ったより厚く、力をいれるのがコツかなと思いましたが、それまでうまくいかず、もう1回やりたいと思いました。
最初は興味があったわけではなく、予約が取れるから選んだのですが、思っていたより楽しかったです。

I used this for her birthday celebration. The instructor was very polite, and the experience itself was excellent! However, despite having made a reservation for two from the beginning, I received a mysterious call two hours before the experience saying, "You will share one seat for two people," and we were forced to alternate using one seat without any prior notice. Fortunately, halfway through, we were provided with two seats because "the reserved person didn't show up," so we were able to enjoy the experience without any issues, but it was a very disappointing response.

The time remained at one and a half hours, and we were charged the regular price while alternating, with no apology or explanation, which I find quite strange. It was very disappointing, especially since the content of the experience was good.

彼女の誕生日記念で利用しました。先生は非常に丁寧で体験自体は最高でした！
しかし、初めから2名で予約していたにも関わらず、体験の2時間前に「2名で１つの席になります」という謎の電話があり、なんの断りもなく１つの席を2人交互で体験することを余儀なくされました。たまたま実施途中に「予約の人が来なくなったから」と2人分の席を用意してもらったため難なく体験できましたが、非常に残念な対応でした。
時間は1時間半のまま2人交互で料金も普通と変わらず、謝罪や断りもないのはさすがにおかしいと思います。
体験内容がよかっただけに非常に残念でした。
