I participated on February 23rd. I was so happy to have beautiful weather with clear skies and no wind. I took the bus from Abashiri Station at 8:30 and first boarded the Aurora. This year, the drift ice arrived later than usual, and I was very anxious about whether I would see it when I went to Abashiri, but it arrived on February 15th, and I was able to see it safely. I was able to witness the beauty of nature. The Aurora moves through the ice, and this is an experience you can only have on the ship. There were many international visitors on board as well. It was moving, and it was worth coming to the Okhotsk region. I think it's a landscape you should see at least once in your lifetime.
Next, I went to Abashiri Prison, but there wasn't enough time. The way the exhibits were presented was good, but time was limited. I would like to see it again if I have the chance. I also rode the Drift Ice Story train from Kitahama Station to Abashiri, and I could see the drift ice from the train. I visited the Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum and Cape Notoro, and the seafood bowl for lunch was delicious. It was a perfect tour. The bus guide, Mr. Nanbu, was very nice, and at the end, he sang "The Sea of Okhotsk" by Chiharu Matsuyama a cappella. Thank you, Abashiri Bus.

本当に快晴で風もなく良いお天気に恵まれて嬉しい限りです。
8時半に網走駅くらバスに乗り、まずはおーろら号に乗船。今年は例年になく、流氷の着岸が遅く、私が網走に行くときに流氷はあるのかとても不安でしたが、2/15に着岸し、無事に見ることができました。自然の素晴らしさを見ることができました。流氷を砕氷しながら進むおーろら号。船に乗らないと体験できないです。海外の方もたくさん乗られてました。感動的でオホーツクに来た甲斐がありました。一生に一度は見てみたい風景だと思います。
次に行った網走刑務所は時間が足りなかった。展示の仕方も上手ですが、時間が足りない。きかいがあればまた見てみたい。
北浜駅→網走駅の流氷物語号にも乗れて、列車からも流氷が見えました。オホーツク流氷館、能取岬も回ってもらえてお昼の海鮮丼も美味しかったし、いうことなしのツアーでした。バスガイドの南部さんがとてもよい方で、最後にアカペラで松山千春の「オホーツクの海」を歌って下さりました。網走バス、ありがとう。
流氷ありきのツアー。これが流氷なければ悲しかったなと思います。
現在の網走刑務所を散策する時間はあまり要らないなと思った。昔の網走刑務所の時間がもう少し多かったらと思いました。

The guide was an excellent person who was fluent in English, Chinese, and Korean. They distributed maps and provided detailed explanations to each individual, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. The other guests were quiet and punctual, and although there was a bit of a traffic jam waiting for parking at the entrance to Shirakawa-go, we were able to get through quickly, which was good.
However, it was disappointing that while the two-hour exploration of Takayama was nice, two hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough, and I couldn't make it to the observation deck. The shuttle bus had a long line, and I tried to walk but ended up taking the wrong path. If the tour can't be extended due to the driver's working hours, I think it would be better to have an hour and a half in Takayama and two and a half hours in Shirakawa-go.
The foreign students I brought along (from Vietnam) were very moved and said they created lifelong memories, so it was worth taking them. Thank you very much.

ただ、残念だったのは高山２時間散策は良かったが、白川郷、２時間は足りなかくて、展望台まで行けなかったのが残念だった。
シャトルバスは長蛇の列で、歩こうとしたが、道を間違えてしまった。運転手さんの労働時間とかの関係で、ツアーを長く出来ないのであれば、高山１時間半、白川郷２時間半でもいいのではないか
と思います

It was really great overall because there were various places to explore. I wish I could have arrived a little later; I would have liked another 30 minutes at Abashiri Prison.

I took a one-hour cruise from 1:00 PM. This year, due to the mild winter, the drift ice was delayed, and during the reservation confirmation call the day before, I was told that "the drift ice hasn't arrived yet," so I thought I might not be able to see it. This time, I was disappointed that there were no signs of drift ice. I guess late February to mid-March might have been better. The Aurora was operating on a shortened schedule, so there was no refund. While I would be excited just to ride the Garinko, the Aurora is more like a ferry that circles the bay, so the scenery wasn't that impressive, and the shortened time left me a bit dissatisfied, but since I had already made the reservation, it couldn't be helped. I enjoyed the atmosphere while drinking drift ice beer from the onboard shop. The tour was satisfying as it efficiently covered various places, not just the Aurora. The tour guide's explanations and highlights were excellent, making my time in Abashiri enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour without any disappointments.
今回は流氷には影も形もお目に描かれず残念でした。やはり2月下旬から3月半ば辺りが良かったのかな。オーロラ号には乗船短縮運航となりましたので返金は無し。ガリンコ号とかなら乗るだけでもワクワクしますがオーロラ号はフェリーのようなもので湾内をまわるのて景色もそれほどでもなく時間短縮なのでちょっと不満感つのりますがそれもアリで予約してるので仕方ありません。船内販売の流氷ビール飲みながら雰囲気だけでも味わいました。ツアーにはオーロラ号だけでなくいろんなところが効率よく回れるので満足でした。ツアーガイドのお話や見どころ案内が非常に良く網走を楽しく回れました。ハズレのないおすすめツアー。

Gokayama Ainokura had almost no other tourists besides us, allowing for a quiet and very moving sightseeing experience. I highly recommend visiting.
The shuttle bus to the Shirakawa-go observation deck was suspended in the morning due to an avalanche on the pathway. The guide provided detailed information on when to take the shuttle bus to ensure we could reach the observation deck in time for the return bus, which allowed us to tour efficiently.
In February, Shirakawa-go is very crowded, and those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal inside may not have enough time to visit the observation deck. I bought food that I could eat while waiting in line for the shuttle bus.
It was also nice that the bus seats were assigned. On tours without assigned seating, the auxiliary seats are often overflowing with foreign tourists, making it quite cramped.

五箇山相倉は我々以外の観光客が殆どおらず、静かに観光できてとても感動的でした。是非行ってみて頂きたいです。
白川郷の展望台に向かうシャトルバスの通路が午前中に雪崩が起き運行中止となり、再開時刻や帰りのバスに間に合うように展望台へ向かうには何時までのシャトルバスに乗ったら良いか等、細かい情報をガイドさんがお知らせしてくれたので効率良く観光できました。
2月白川郷は大変混んでおりゆっくり店内で食事したい方は展望台に行く時間は足りない可能性があります。私は食べ歩きできる物を買って食べながらシャトルバスの列に並びました。
バスの席が決まってるのも良かっです。決まってないツアーのバスだと補助席まで外国人観光客で溢れかえっててかなりキツイです。

It was my first time in Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go. We had 2 hours of free time in Hida Takayama and 2 hours in Shirakawa-go. The time in Takayama was just right, but 2 hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough. This was because the walking path to the viewpoint I wanted to visit was closed due to snow, so the only option was the shuttle bus, which had a long line of about an hour to board. In the end, it was certain that I wouldn't make it back in time for the bus departure, so I reluctantly gave up (tears). Since the shuttle bus only came every 20 minutes, I think anyone wanting to go to the viewpoint during this season needs at least 3 hours of free time... Other than that, I was very satisfied! I was also able to buy the water pudding. About 90% of the tour participants were foreigners, but there were no particular issues.

Shirakawa-go had amazing scenery even during the day, so I was already satisfied with that. I thought the light-up area was a bit smaller than I expected, but the atmosphere changed from the daytime to a magical scene at night. Since I had some time, I warmed up in the hot springs in Shirakawa-go, and as someone who loves hot springs, the slightly slippery water quality was just fantastic. The guide on the bus back shared interesting stories, so the time didn't feel long at all. I ended up sleeping on the way back, though, haha. It was also convenient to go from Kanazawa. The plan was to visit Shirakawa-go, but due to a severe cold wave, the news had been advising against visiting Shirakawa-go and announcing road closures for 2-3 days prior to the tour. Despite this, when I confirmed whether the tour would proceed, I received a response that the tour would take place on the day. Since cancellations on the day before do not qualify for a refund, I participated, but in the end, we could only go to Gujo Hachiman. About 80% of the participants were foreigners. There were few Japanese participants, and it was very disappointing given my expectations.
After going to Gujo Hachiman, we were told we would go to an outlet as an option, but I couldn't help but think that this was part of the original plan. In the end, we had to return to Nagoya Station right away. I was a bit anxious before the whale watching experience, but once on board, the staff were very accommodating, and I had a great time. I applied with my Canadian boyfriend. On the day I participated, there were no other Japanese people, and the guide was in Chinese and English. He was also satisfied and able to understand the content! The guide was fluent in Japanese as well and communicated with us in Japanese during the tour.
I don't think it's possible to explore so efficiently on your own, especially in winter, so I was very satisfied! The time allocation was very sufficient, and in Gujo Hachiman, we walked to scenic spots with the guide, while in Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go, we had the freedom to wander around.

I participated in early February, but I couldn't see the drift ice. The weather was good, so the Aurora cruise operated, but it only went around the nearby sea. The visit to Abashiri Prison took 75 minutes, but there wasn't enough time, so I just had a quick look. I didn't have time to choose souvenirs. If I had more time on the Aurora cruise, I would have liked to explore Abashiri Prison more leisurely.
I took the JR train to the meeting point in Abashiri, but it was on the same line as the Drift Ice Story train (which I realized upon reflection), and the tour included riding the Drift Ice Story train, going by bus from Abashiri to Kitahama Station, and then returning to Abashiri on the Drift Ice Story train, so it felt a bit off.
As for lunch, I felt it was unavoidable given the tour's itinerary. The time allocated for other locations was just right.

集合地点の網走までJRで向かいましたが、流氷物語号と同じ路線（考えてみれば気づくこと）で、ツアーの流氷物語号に乗車する内容でも、網走からバスで北浜駅に向かい、流氷物語で網走に戻るというツアーだったので、うーん、という感じでした。
昼食も、ツアーの内容なら仕方ないか、といった感じです。
その他の場所の所要時間はちょうどよかったです。
