We really enjoyed our snorkeling trip with Holokai Catamaran. The crew was very attentive, funny and friendly. They made a point to make sure we saw turtles while we were in the water, and they periodically asked if we were doing ok or needed help with anything throughout the cruise. Any cautionary instructions that they gave us were very warm and polite, not bossy or curt which was especially nice for the kids on our trip.

The snorkeling itself was a little disappointing, but it had nothing to do with Holokai. We just happened to go at a time of year that was really busy. There were several other tour boats snorkeling in the same spot, so the water was crowded. It was a little stressful navigating around other snorkelers and trying to avoid getting a flipper in your face. But again the Holokai crew was in the water with us doing their best to make sure we were seeing turtles and fish.

After snorkeling, the crew let us jump off the boat and swim freely in the water. After that they put up the sails and took us for a super fun ride out past Diamond Head. That was definitely our kids’ favorite part of the experience.

Thank you to Holokai for making the this excursion fun and exciting for our families.

The worst snorkel tour I’ve ever been on as far as what a person was able to see under the water. My husband didn’t see a single fish. The kids and I saw two species. A black fish and a striped fish..literally two fish of each kind. Water is too cloudy to see much. I don’t believe there is really much to see even if the water were clear. No reef in sight. Way too many tourists from about 5 different boats all dropped off to snorkel at the same spot so people are constantly getting in each other’s way. I never saw a turtle except the one from the boat when we first pulled up. BEST part was the crew and the sail after the snorkel. The crew was wonderful. Brandon was super funny. Ryan and Mike both nice guys. They all work hard. Maybe it was just a poor day at sea for seeing much in the water, but I wouldn’t do it again. A sunset sail with them would be great since the sailing was the best part and the crew is awesome. But if you’re hoping to see a lot of fish and turtles while snorkeling, don’t expect it here. Wish I could get a refund.

This was an incredible experience. Our guide Steven did a fabulous job and gave my wife and daughters the confidence to give snorkeling a real try. I would definitely recommend this again, and then take that experience and go to a better snorkeling location. Boat was very nice, friendly staff, but we stopped at 1 site for a while and didn’t see any turtles, then when we got to the more popular spot there were already 4 more boats and we only got to see 1 turtle. The crew were amazing! They not only showed us where to find all the turtles while we snorkeled (saw about 5/6 different turtles surfacing a million times right next to us), they followed a pod of dolphins for a while so we could get a good view and watch them in their element. We drove around the water for a bit before going back as well so you can snack and drink after snorkeling. The weather was amazing and we were the only boat out there (did the 8AM tour) for majority of the time so had all the ocean to ourselves! Some people didn’t/couldn’t snorkel but they hanged out on the Net of the Catamaran with their drinks and still had a great time napping and drinking lol.

Would definitely recommend this experience. Because of COVID, our group of 13 were the only people on the boat and once everyone was done snorkeling, they took us out to sail by Diamond Head. So even though I didn't get in the water, I enjoyed the time spent sailing. The rest of the group that went snorkeling, said it was amazing - wish I would have gone snorkeling. Maybe next time!

The trip does not include flippers so we rented 2 pairs for 10.00 total from the Waikiki Dive Shop on Nahua St., a short walk away.

Sharp, amusing crew, well maintained and clean masks, snorkels, and fins provided, and cold local beer.
A great combination.

スタッフの方のノリが良く、とても楽しかったです。
日本語が上手なスタッフもおり、安心でした。

カメと泳ぐ時間は十分すぎるくらい十分！
カメと泳ぐ以外に、滑り台やトランポリンなどあり、アトラクションも沢山です。
寒くて船にあがると、暖かいお茶やココアをくれたり、本当に親切にしてくださいました。
写真も沢山撮ってくださりました。（有料40ドル）
更に、ラッキーなことにクジラも見れて良かったです。


少しだけ残念だったのは、2点。
・ライフジャケットを着用するように指示があったのに、外国人の方は着用せずに潜っていました。
　ライフジャケットがあることで、カメと泳ぐショットは撮ってもらえず…
　（浮いてしまうので、海のなかを泳げず…）
　写真を撮ってくれる方に、カメの前で「潜って！」と何度も言われましたが、ライフジャケットがあると潜れない…
　ライフジャケットの着用がないと不安ですが、カメと泳いでいるショットが撮れなかったのは残念。。

・ランチ付きとありましたが、スパムむすび１つでした。
　ハワイでの食事も楽しみにしていたので、むすびはなしで、早めに帰港して
　ランチの時間を確保したかった…！
　また、船酔いしている人にとっては、スパムむすびは重いので、なくてもいいかな…

最高の体験でした。はじめてのハワイで色々なオプショナルツアーを詰め込んでいましたが、もう一度行きたいと思ったアクティビティほなんといってもこれですね。
内容は他の方が詳しく書いていらっしゃるとおりですが、ひとつ注意しておくべきはポイントへ到着するとすぐさま海に入ることになります。若い人は大丈夫なんでしょうが、そこそこの年齢の私たちのような方はあらかじめ体をほぐしておきましょう。私は海の中で足がつりそうになりました。笑

This cruise was amazing and my partners highlight of our trip. The captain was very informative and went through all the possible creatures we were likely to see. At the reef we saw a number of turtles being cleaned by the fish which was very interesting to see. As a bonus we even saw a humpback whale as we headed back to the dock. Would definitely recommend this cruise.

It was great! Got to see 8 sea turtles and a lot of fish. After snorkeling, they did a couple of laps around which was really relaxing and even got to see a whale (although I´m sure it might not be that common to see a whale).

The only down side was that it´s in Waikiki so there were several other tours in the same area so it was a bit crowded.

It was a great day filled with great adventure. I saw a bunch of turtles and even Had a few swim a little closer than the 2 meters we were told to give them. The crew was fantastic. They were always checking on us on the boat and were always with in sight in the water.

The only thing I didn’t like was the 42 people (plus the 4 crew members) on board. It felt crowded even when were spread out on the nets and side (hard to move around to and from the bar.) capping the max to 35 guests (plus 4 crew) would have made it an outstanding day.

We had a great time on the tour. The boat was easy to find. We signed a waiver and picked a spot to sit until it was time to leave. The crew were friendly and told us where to sit if we want a splash (my kids did) and where to stay dry. They even kept our bag somewhere safe from the waves. My kids loved laying on the net and riding out to turtle canyon. We were one of the first boats out there. They went over some simple instructions and handed out snorkeling equipment. I liked the life vests they used-it was an aqua lung type instead of a basic life jacket so you could choose how much air to have. I had brought a life jacket for my toddler and 5yr old, but they also had life vests for some other kids on our tour.

I had a 10, 5, and 22mo old with me. The crew was helpful handing out stuff and trying to find a mask to fit my 5yr old. She is actually a pretty good snorkel-er but unfortunately it was hard finding a mask and snorkel that fit her. They kept filling with water. I wish I had known and I would have brought hers. If you have a set you like-my tip is to bring it. They did not provide fins either which was ok but I can get my kids and I around easier with fins. The masks and snorkels were pretty basic. Mine fogged up every couple minutes but luckily I am experienced and can clear it. That’s the only draw-back about the trip is I would have rather had our own stuff that we have properly cleaned and fit better. It’s February and kind of a windy/rainy day but it was still warm enough to be comfortable In the water. There were lots of waves and the water was cloudy so it was difficult to see. Soon there were tons of boats and people. We mostly interacted with Matt. He was out in the water life guarding. He helped us find the turtles and was so nice letting my kids hold onto his surfboard when needed. He even helped me carry my middle daughter to the beach since I had my hands full. Thank you! He definitely made the tour great!

たくさんウミガメを見ることができました！スタッフのみなさんもとても親切で楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。スノーケリングスポットまでの往復の時間も盛り上げてくださっていました。同じツアーを利用している人の中に小さい子ども連れの方がいらっしゃっていたのですが、スノーケリング中もスタッフの方がつきっきりで見ていて素晴らしいホスピタリティだと思いました(ツアーの人数が少なめだったからかもしれませんが)。機会があればまた違うツアーを利用してみたいと思います。
ワイキキの波は意外と高いので、酔い止めは飲んでおくことをおすすめします。
