It was raining quite hard during our tour—we are from a dry climate and weren’t really prepared, but that’s on us. This is one of the wettest places in the world, after all! Our guide was very kind and helpful, even though most people in the group did not speak Japanese. The forest is absolutely stunning! Highly recommended.

Yakusugi Land is a cedar tree paradise where visitors may observe the ecology of the trees. The mountain-walking course is a relatively flat trail reaching an elevation of 1,000m and is recommended to beginner hikers.
*Admission fee (500 JPY) is required for high school students and older.

Kigensugi Cedar (Sightseeing：15min)
Kigensugi Cedar is estimated 3,000 years old and situates at an elevation of about 1,200 meters (3,900ft), the unique tree is 19.5 meters (64ft) tall, 8.1 meters (26.5ft) around.
