I was able to see the training facilities for mechanics, pilots, and rescue training in California! I was also very satisfied to sit in a life-size model of the cockpit and in a business class seat!
This time, we participated in a greedy tour with seven people, taking over 10 hours in one day to visit Jomon Sugi, Taiko Rock, and Shiratani Unsuikyo, including breaks. The guide considered each person's pace, ensuring that no one was left behind, which made us feel secure participating. It was also helpful that they informed us in advance about areas to be careful while walking and how long the steep slopes would last. Not only did they teach us many interesting facts about Jomon Sugi and various plants, but they also shared entertaining stories, allowing us to continue walking without getting bored. I highly recommend this tour.
I participated in a one-day tour of Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. It was a trekking course lasting a total of 12 hours, but we were blessed with good weather, and the guide's engaging talk encouraged us, allowing us to reach the summit safely while having fun.
It seems that courses covering both spots have been decreasing lately, and both the guide and participants thought it would be a physically demanding course. However, being able to visit two highlights in one day during a limited travel period was very valuable. Also, the view from Taiko Rock and the taste of the tonjiru we had at Jomon Sugi are unforgettable. Thank you very much! Next time, I will join when Tsugimura-san turns 80. Looking forward to it!
Despite the forecast for sunny weather, I was disappointed to see the mountains covered in clouds, but beyond those clouds lay a world of clear skies. Below, I could see a sea of clouds, and while we were indeed blessed with good weather, it was a precious experience to start with the morning spring water and receive a thorough lecture about the melting snow from Tateyama. I realized how delicious things from Toyama are nurtured in this way. The time management and the gradual increase in elevation were also excellent, making me very satisfied with my choice of this tour. This is an experience that you wouldn't get by simply using public transportation on your own.
I had always thought I should visit Yakushima at least once before turning 40, so I was glad to participate this time.
When I mentioned that we would be walking for about 11 hours, everyone around me was put off, so I ended up going alone. However, the people I walked with were all wonderful, and our guide kept us entertained with little anecdotes, quizzes, and conversations, making the walk enjoyable without any boredom.
We were able to see everything I wanted to in one day, including Jomon Sugi, Wilson's Stump, Shiratani Unsuikyo, and Taiko Rock, which felt like a great deal.
There were some parts where the footing was poor or slippery, which made me a bit nervous, but since I brought work gloves, I was able to hold onto things and keep a low stance, allowing me to complete the hike without injury.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful day!
On the third day in Hokkaido, unfortunately, the cherry blossoms at Hokkaido Shrine were mostly past their peak, but I was still able to enjoy them a little this year. I also had enough time to explore the Shakotan Peninsula, and I was very satisfied to reach the tip. When I'm driving, it's hard to visit so many places, but on a tour, I could relax during the travel time and enjoy a lot.
At 4:25 AM, the guide picked us up at our accommodation. We transferred to a bus and packed our lunch, arriving at the Arakawa Trailhead by 5:30. We had our breakfast at 6:00 and started our hike! After walking the trolley path for two and a half hours, we reached Wilson Stump, then tackled a steep ascent for 60 minutes before taking a lunch break. We arrived at Jomon Sugi at 11:00. We started our descent at 11:30, enjoying photo opportunities and taking our time, reaching the bus stop at 16:00. A round trip of 20 km, taking 10 and a half hours.
It was a tour that greatly exceeded my expectations in terms of satisfaction. Thanks to the favorable weather conditions, not only did we get to see the sea of clouds, but the care taken by the tour guide was also wonderful.
It rained all day, but I had a great time. Thank you to the guide for the thorough introductions and assistance. If I have the opportunity in the future, I will definitely use your services again.

It's understandable to spend time picking up guests from the hotels, but staying for 35 minutes at the souvenir shop and Okashi Goten is questionable. Shoppers are left with too much time on their hands, and even including bathroom breaks, it feels excessively long. Due to traffic congestion, we returned to the prefectural office after 8:30 PM. Foreign guests tend to be very lax about the meeting times, so the tour guide should enforce stricter guidelines.

Traveling between Iriomote Island and Yubu Island by water buffalo cart was relaxing and very soothing. I wish I had more time on Taketomi Island, and it was disappointing that the shops were closed on their regular day off. Next time, I plan to visit Taketomi Island and take my time.
It seems it rained early in the morning, but by around 7:30 when we left the hotel, it had cleared up. The waves were a bit high from Ishigaki Port to Iriomote Island, so a few people experienced seasickness. The weather was good on Iriomote Island, making the mangrove cruise on the Nakama River and the water buffalo crossing to Yubu Island quite enjoyable. It will still get hotter from here, so precautions are necessary.
I came from Hokkaido. I knew that most of the participants would be foreigners because I read experiences in advance, but there were indeed many.
This was the only bus tour that allowed us to visit four famous spots in one day, so I signed up.
It was May 1st, and even though it was a holiday, the roads were surprisingly clear since it was a weekday, and we arrived at Kyoto Station safely at 5:10 PM, even though the initial announcement was around 5:30 to 5:45 PM.
The guide provided information in both English and Japanese, and their language skills were amazing.
I made a mistake at the meeting point in Arashiyama and had to call the guide for directions, which caused me to be cutting it close on time. I truly felt that participating in this tour was a great decision.
Thank you very much.

The weather was absolutely perfect, and I was able to take great photos wherever I went. The tour guide was also fantastic, speaking three languages. Since this was my second trip to Hokkaido, I was looking for a tour that I hadn't done before, and I had an amazing day. I highly recommend this tour.
The bus guide was very helpful, advising us on how to stay warm, moving us to seats with a roof, and sharing interesting stories. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, but we could only truly enjoy them around the Imperial Palace at the beginning; in other areas, we only caught a glimpse of the blossoms, and the rest felt like just a tour of Tokyo. I wish we could have strolled a bit more in places like Ueno and enjoyed the cherry blossoms at a more leisurely pace; it was different from the tour I had imagined.
The tour of Iriomote Island was a valuable experience. The mangrove cruise on Iriomote Island was very informative, with the guide explaining the types of trees, climate, and characteristics of the island in an easy-to-understand manner, making it enjoyable to learn. Additionally, during the bus ride to Yubu Island, the driver provided guidance in the short travel time, giving us a deeper understanding of Iriomote Island. On the water buffalo cart, the boatman shared stories and sang "Asadoya Yunta" with the sanshin, which was a lot of fun. Since the plan for Taketomi Island was flexible, we were able to explore at a leisurely pace. It was truly a fulfilling tour.
The Kamoi Cape Lighthouse was a tough walk, but I was able to reach the end and experience the wonderful nature. Otaru would have been great for a stroll on a sunny day.
It was a wonderful experience to hear stories from a different industry. I was also able to observe various training sessions, which was a valuable experience that I would like to utilize in my current job.
I had a great time at Asahiyama Zoo, where I could take my time exploring. Other tourist spots also met my expectations, and I was able to visit them efficiently. Unfortunately, the quality of lunch was disappointing. The ramen was made with cold boiled noodles and lukewarm soup. The vegetables in the soup curry were about 1 centimeter long, which was quite meager, especially since I was expecting something special from Hokkaido, so I was let down. I felt sorry for the guests from Honshu.
There was a family with a child around 2 years old who were walking around without a seatbelt, which was dangerous, and there was no warning given. The cost-performance was good, but it was a shame about the important meal. The cleanliness of the car was also lacking.
I participated from Shikoku during the Golden Week in May.
First, for those coming from western Japan, Hokkaido is still cold during this time. It's about the same coldness as January to March in western Japan, and locals are wearing boa jackets and coach down jackets (which are completely winter clothes for people from Shikoku).
If you're heading to Hokkaido, be sure to bring lightweight long coats or other winter clothing.
[Experience]
This was my first bus tour. There were participants from neighboring countries like South Korea and China, as well as from Indonesia and other various countries. The bus was mostly organized by country, and since there were Japanese people nearby, I enjoyed chatting with them.
They also provide explanations about the places we are heading to. The guide was Chinese and spoke English, Korean, and Chinese for foreign guests, while a Japanese guide provided explanations for the locals. Once we arrived at the destination, everyone was mostly free to explore on their own, but we were told to return to the bus by a specified time.
We visited Hokkaido Shrine, Cape Kamui, Otaru, and Shiroi Koibito Park. Personally, I highly recommend Cape Kamui. The weather was forecasted to be cloudy, but when I went, it was clear and the view was breathtaking, unlike anything I had seen before.
The tour guide mentioned to wear "comfortable clothing and shoes," and that was absolutely true, as it felt like a gentle hike with ups and downs. Someone who had been there before said, "You need to go at quite a fast pace to reach the tip," and while taking photos, I sometimes had to jog to manage the round trip. We arrived at the parking lot 10 minutes before the return time and quickly ate ice cream on the way back.
I was excited on the way there, but by the time we returned, I was exhausted and drenched in sweat (in this regard, I'm glad I went during the still chilly Golden Week).
In Otaru, we had 130 minutes, but if you're busy with meals and shopping in lines, you surprisingly don't have much time to spare.
[Note]
Although I was late for the meeting time in Otaru, I must say that foreigners tend to be quite relaxed, sometimes heading to the next destination early or buying ice cream right before the meeting time and eating it outside. It seems to be a cultural difference.
The ANA Blue Base is a training center of the ANA group. Guided by an active flight attendant, I took a close look at some of the world’s latest training equipment and facilities, and the actual training of the staff such as ground staff, cargo staff, flight attendants, mechanics, and pilots. The tour made me want to fly in a plane!

Churaumi Aquarium takes some time to get to from Naha, so I decided to join a tour. Although there are time constraints, you can still enjoy a thorough visit. After that, we visited several tourist spots, making it a great option for those who want to see a lot in a short time. The guide was a young person from Korea, but their Japanese was excellent, and they were very friendly, which made the experience even better.
I was satisfied to be able to visit various tourist spots centered around Lake Toya all at once. The weather was nice, and the scenery everywhere was beautiful, so next time I want to focus on specific spots and take my time exploring.
I participated in a trekking tour at Shiratani Unsuikyo. The guide provided detailed explanations about the plants, insects, monkeys, and deer ecology we encountered during the tour, striking a perfect balance in length—neither too long nor too short—and I gained many insights. We also took photos at various scenic spots, allowing us to have a fulfilling time. I'm very grateful.
Not only did we go trekking, but we also received explanations about the animals, the sounds of the birds, and the formation of Yakushima, which allowed us to see Yakushima from a new perspective. If I had gone trekking on my own, I would have missed out on so much, so it was really great.
The Shakotan Blue at Kamui Cape is beautiful no matter how many times you see it! The 50 minutes here felt quite rushed! I also had soft serve ice cream... Since it was a holiday, there were a lot of tourists in Otaru, including many foreign visitors.
During the free time for lunch, there was a wait, but I was able to adjust my time by walking around and buying souvenirs. The bus had speeches in Chinese, Japanese, and English. I enjoyed the explanations from our Japanese guide and had a great time. I might participate again!
I made a reservation to honor my parents, and the guidance provided by Mr. Onodera was extremely polite and excellent. I believe it will be a precious memory for my parents to take back to China. They were also kind in accommodating my noisy elderly father.
About 20 years ago, I saw a TV program that made me want to visit Yakushima and Jomon Sugi at least once. I enjoy solo travel, so this trip to Yakushima was also a solo adventure. As someone with no climbing experience, I felt a bit anxious about trekking alone, so I joined this Jomon Sugi trekking tour.
While there are various critical reviews, here are my thoughts. I believe the experience with the guide depends on personal compatibility. The guide I had didn't say much and only explained the important points, but the trail was slippery, and if I lost focus even for a moment, there was a risk of falling and getting injured, so I felt that this guide was a good fit for me.
The miso soup the guide made for lunch and the salty onigiri (rice balls) I ordered were incredibly delicious. Some guides also prepared drinks like coffee, but for me, who tends to need the restroom frequently, just having the miso soup was perfect. I think it really depends on personal preference.
Physically, it seems manageable for those who engage in light exercise like walking. As for essentials, wearing hiking shoes is absolutely necessary. If you're worried about blisters, wearing thick socks can help. Gloves are also needed, and I used a pair I bought at a 100 yen store, which worked perfectly. Additionally, having some nutritional supplements might be a good idea. I got hungry along the way, so I snacked during breaks. I recommend items from the marathon corner, but be cautious as unfamiliar foods can upset your stomach.
I participated in a day trip bus tour from Sapporo on April 28. With COVID-19 now classified as Category 5, it was the first Golden Week since then, and there were quite a few international guests, making a total of 47 people on the bus. Today's itinerary included a bear feeding experience at Noboribetsu (Bear Ranch), followed by visits to Lake Toya, Lake Shikotsu, Cape Earth, and Mount Yotei. What impressed me the most was that the tour guide spoke Japanese, Chinese, and English fluently. I would love to join another day trip bus tour if I come back to Hokkaido. Thank you very much.
The guide and the tour conductor were very kind. I wish we had a bit more time at Asahiyama Zoo, but I had a lot of fun at the Blue Pond, the White Waterfall, and the Seven Star Tree. I'm also grateful that the guide took pictures for us at the Seven Star Tree and the White Waterfall.
