二階建て観光船でホエールウォッチング
投稿者: AXS, 2023/01/04出港15分前までに港に集合して発券。時間どおりの出港でした。天気は快晴でしたがクジラは10体弱遠目に見えた程度。以前参加したときは間近に何体も出現し、ダイブも見られたり、イルカの群れと併走したこともあって、それに比べるとかなり控えめでした。船長がずっと解説のみならず世間話も独り言のようにしゃべり続けていて、熱心にクジラポイントを探し当てるようなやる気はゼロだったのが残念でした。（以前の船長は経験と勘で次々とベストポイントを当てて積極的に移動していた。）クジラがよく見えるかどうかは本当に船長次第です。(選べませんが。。）

鯨で会えなくて残念

まぁ自然界の常識でもあるように、鯨のご機嫌次第とはいえ
見れなくて残念でした。
同じ日に別の鯨ツアーに行った人はしっかり見れたらしく
余計に残念な思いです。
でも、船そのものは揺れも少なく安心して乗っていられましたし
これで鯨が見れたらほんと最高でしたね！
次回は見れることを願って、いつかまた冬のハワイを楽しみたいです！

Waianae whales did not disappoint!
投稿者: Blu3yedblonde, 2022/12/07An hour out, we were all (including crew) worrying we wouldn’t see any whales. Crew had seen 1 in the morning.
Into the 2nd hour 2 beautiful hump back made their appearance. They put on an amazing show for us, with multiple breaches. It was truly a memorable tour!
Crew was so positive, friendly, and informative. They were as happy as we were, with such a stunning “show”.
Bummed my videos wouldn’t load, but you get the gist.

What an amazing afternoon.

The crew were all amazing and the marine biologist on board had a wrath of knowledge regarding the whales and the island. We had some yummy drinks and got to see quite a few whales. Whale Boat Trip!
投稿者: James, 2022/03/31We had a very good experience on board this vessel. The crew was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. Captain Jesse and the crew were very entertaining. We did find a whale about 50 yards off the bow, caught a shot of his tail! Great boat ride, beautiful scenery and gorgeous weather! Well worth the price of admission! Thank you to everyone involed!!!!!!

投稿者: Stephan, 2022/03/30I took my folks on this boat trip, and they had a great time. We spotted a whale about 50 yards out and saw a bunch of flying fish. The crew were fun and informative and showed us all sorts of sites. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see a whale or just enjoy a big catamaran.

Whales!!
投稿者: Jen, 2022/03/21The vessel is more like a ship than a boat like it has 3-4 levels. Very organized and informational! The staff is friendly. Lots of room to walk around. They offer motion pills or some kind of ginger cocktail to prevent motion sickness. They also offered small snakes like chips. There wasn't an option for breakfast.
I went in February and and I saw about 7-10 whales( sprays, tip of their tails). I think 1 or 2 came close to the boat. I enjoyed it. My little one (5yo) was mostly running around...lol.

鯨は感動！でも昼食はついてません！

こちらのツアーは昼食付きと記載されていますが、現在はついていません。スタッフにもついていないんですか？と確認しましたが、昼食は有料で購入との事でした。また、クジラについての解説は英語、日本語ともにありませんでした。
過去のコメントから昼食への期待はあまりしていませんでしたが、実際に昼食がついていないのであれば、他のツアーの方が良かったなーと思いました。(嘘の記載は良くないですね...)
このツアー1番の目的である、鯨は何度も見ることができたので良かったです。
感染対策に関しては、ワクチン接種確認も陰性証明書提示もありません。スタッフはマスクをしていますが、乗客はみなノーマスクです。それが今のハワイの現状だと思った方が良いです。それと、ハワイは海外旅行ができなくなったアメリカ本土からたくさんの観光客が来ています。このツアーも大勢の方が乗船していました。日本人、アジア人は私たちだけと思いました。

Super chill whale watch.
投稿者: Kathryn Reich , 2022/03/05 Loved the catamaran, as we got to sit on the sturdy netting and relax during our ride. We saw a mother and newborn calf and hung out with them for the duration of the trip. Adorable. The crew was entertaining, kind, and resourceful.
We were three adults, but we saw several families with children of a variety of ages enjoy the activity as well. It was winter when we did it and it was super warm. They provide sunscreen, but if you are particular about brands, bring your own. Also if you are sensitive to the sun, bring a hat that is able to withstand the wind. Two additional notes: bring shoes you are ok with being locked up as this is a shoeless cruise. And you get two drink tickets with a very serviceable bar and local draught brews.

We saw the whales!
投稿者: HHY, 2022/03/03The boat was nice. The nature expert was very informative and had tons of bad dad jokes. We looked for over an hour before we finally caught sight of the whales. We were pretty far away so we couldn't see them too close. We only stayed for about 10 minutes before heading back, since we were already running late. I'm just glad the trip wasn't for naught.

The WONDROUS Waters of Waikiki comes ALIVE!!

NOTHING is better than experiencing the beauty of Hawaii and it's wildlife than from the water - and the Star of Honolulu does it, like no other! Of course, the hope and draw of seeing whales is what brought us to this tour; however, truly, what makes this journey unforgettable is, in fact, the journey!
The boat ride, itself, is nothing short of magical. From the enchantment of rolling out of peer to the unreal experience of being on the ocean, looking towards our hotel from the perception of the sea is nothing we will soon forget! The crew were exceptional at being clear on instructions and protocols, which is appreciated - but truly what dazzled us impressed was how genuinely friendly and eager to help the crew was! I am disabled; the crew did an incredible job helping me and making sure I was alright!
The naturalist on board was great too! He was personable, knowledgeable, and open to questions, without being pushy. He enhanced the trip so much, and ticked our funny bone with his hilarious whale dad jokes!
Finally, seeing whales and dolphins in their own world took everyone's breath away! This was, without a doubt, the icing on the cake! We can honestly say, going on this adventure with the Star of Honolulu was the best and most memorable part of our honeymoon! Four of our biggest thumbs up for this amazing life experience; our biggest thanks to the Star of Honolulu!

It was awesome!
投稿者: Aki & Matt, 2022/02/17Twenty minutes after leaving Waianae harbor, my husband spotted a whale spout first. After that several pairs of whales were spotted during the 2 hour tour.
We were so excited when one appeared at a distance of about 20 yards (whale came up to the boat) Also we watched a whale with a baby, and the baby appeared to wave to us hitting the surface of the water several times with a pectoral fin awhile looking at us.
The waves weren't so strong on that day, so even I, who get seasick, could spend the day out to sea without any problems. I was relieved that there is a restroom on board.
We relaxed sitting back enjoyed the whales and good drinks with snacks . We really had a great time.
The captain and the three staff members always took care to make us feel comfortable. The boat appears and sounds to be in good working order. We felt safe on it.

First part of the trip had difficulty finding the Whales (Mother Nature you know) but the captain and crew were relentless in the search to provide us an excellent experience! We found a group of whales that came extraordinarily close to the boat. Refreshments and snacks were also provided. Great for any traveler, family, couples or solo!
10/10 experience!

A wonderful morning whale watching!

Highly recommend!
投稿者: Jordan, 2022/01/26This little adventure is something you won't want to miss out on. I'm really glad we made it part of our Oahu vacation! Knowing ahead that if there were no sightings you would be able to use your ticket again later is awesome. We loved the pineapple drinks on board and the staff was top notch! It's great for all ages! I only wish they had more options for food or snacks, though that could be covid related, I'm not sure. Do this!
