当日は生憎の雨で少し涼しく感じられる天気でしたが、抜群のロケーションのなか川床で美味しい食事（すき焼きを選択）を頂きながら舞妓さんの舞やお話しでひととき現実逃避してきました～。（笑）　もちろん写真撮影もバッチリいけますよ！

聞いたところ5つある川床のうち4つ入客あった様で舞妓さんも、上七軒から梅たえさん・ふみ幸さん　宮川町から菊弥江さん・叶季（かなすえ）さんの4名が来てくれてました。（時間の都合でふみ幸さんとはお目にかかれませんでしたが・・・悲）


なにより、スタッフのみなさんの気づかい心くばりも嬉しかったですね～・・・ここ、お薦めですよ！奥様～♪（笑）

私たちは京都の初日にこの体験を予約し、文化に浸る方法としました。何一つとして失望することはありませんでした。体験は十分に長く感じられましたが、私たちの注意を引きつけるには短すぎることはなく、アメリカ東海岸からの時差ボケのため、簡単ではありませんでした。ホステスたちとの時間を楽しみ、私たちの質問に率直に答えてくれ、写真を一緒に撮ることにも快く応じてくれたことに感謝しました。また、行われた伝統的な茶道にも魅了されました。週の始まりにとても良い方法でした！

We booked this on our first day in Kyoto as our way of immersing in the culture. Not one thing about it disappointed. It was long enough to feel we got the experience but short enough to keep our attention which was not easy since we were all jet lagged from the east coast of the US. We enjoyed our time with our hostesses and appreciated the candor in answering all of our questions and being willing to have pictures taken with us. We also were fascinated by the traditional tea ceremony performed. Very nice way to start the week!

私たちは京都で舞妓と過ごした1時間を本当に楽しみました。茶道を心からお勧めします。今でもそのことを話しています。舞妓や芸妓の生活に触れることができたのはとても特権でした。この一生に一度の体験を共有させていただき、本当にありがとうございました。

We absolutely loved the hour we spent with the Maiko in Kyoto. We cannot recommend the Tea Ceremony highly enough, we are still talking about it. It was such a privilege to get an insight in to the Maiko and Geiko way of life. Thank you so much for allowing us to share this once in a lifetime experience.

舞妓のトミチエは本当に素晴らしい存在でした。彼女も素晴らしい英語を話し、踊りの際は本当に息をのむようでした。彼女の仕事にはどれだけの練習が必要かが伝わってきます。質疑応答のセッションでは、彼女は思慮深い答えをくれ、私たちの質問にも興味を持ってくれました。もっと長くお話しできたらよかったのですが、残念ながら時間があっという間に過ぎてしまいました。6歳の息子と一緒に彼女を見ているのは心温まるものでした。彼はこの体験が京都旅行のハイライトだと言っており（私も彼に同意します）、本当に素晴らしい思い出になりました！

I am so thankful to have found this experience online. I have been fascinated by Geisha culture and history for a long time and to be able to have this chance was amazing. The tea house owner spoke wonderful English and gave us a very quick, but thorough history of Geikos and Maikos. She also took some photos for us during the tea, and outside the teahouse before we began, which was nice.

Tomichie, the Maiko, was a complete delight. She also spoke wonderful English and really was breathtaking during the dance. You can tell how much practice goes into the work that she does. During the Q&A session she gave thoughtful answers and was interested in ours too. I think we could've chatted with her much longer, but sadly our time went by so quickly. Watching her with my son, 6, was heartwarming. He said that this experience was the highlight of our trip in Kyoto (and I don't disagree with him)!

このイベントは、建物の2階にあるスタジオの一部で行われます。建物の前にはスタジオに上がるための階段があります。プログラムの説明に従って早めに到着しましたが、入場する前に前のプログラムが終わるのを待たなければなりませんでした。スタジオに入る前に、靴を脱いでラックに置く必要があります。

中に入ると、部屋の一方に低い「ステージ」に向かっていくつかのベンチの列があります。全員が席に着くと、舞妓が入ってきます。舞妓のための英語の通訳はとても良かったです。舞妓は自己紹介をし、彼女との写真を撮る機会があり、彼女の名前が押印された紙を受け取ることができます（もちろん日本語で）。全員が写真を撮った後、舞妓は2つの踊りを披露します。その後、質疑応答の時間があり、舞妓が飲みゲームのルールを説明します。彼女と通訳が一度ゲームをデモンストレーションし、その後舞妓は一連のボランティアに前に出て挑戦するように求めます。負けても心配しないでください。日本酒の代わりに水を飲むことを選ぶことができます！

これらすべては30分ちょっとで行われますが、特に急いでいる感じはしませんでした。舞妓は質問に丁寧に答えてくれ、彼女に対してゲームをするのは楽しかったです。観客の多くは質問をしたりボランティアをするのが恥ずかしがっているように感じましたが、恥ずかしがらずに楽しんでほしいと思います！

This event takes place in part of a studio on the second floor of a building. There are stairs outside in front of the building that go up to the studio. We arrived early, as recommended in the program description, but ended up waiting for the previous program to finish before we could enter. Before entering the studio, you need to take your shoes off and leave them on a rack.

Once inside, there are some rows of benches facing towards a low "stage" on one side of the room. After everyone has taken their seats, the maiko enters. The English translator for the maiko was very good. The maiko introduces herself, and there is an opportunity to have your photograph taken with her and receive a slip of paper with her name stamped on it (in Japanese, of course). After everyone has their photograph, the maiko performs two dances. Then there is a question-and-answer session, and then the maiko explains the rules for a drinking game. She and the translator demonstrated the game once, and then the maiko will ask a series of volunteers to come up to the front to challenge her. If you lose, don't worry--you can choose to drink a cup of water instead of sake!

All of this takes place just over a half hour, but it didn't feel particularly rushed. The maiko was very courteous with answering questions and it was fun to play the game against her. I felt like many of the people in our audience were too shy to ask questions or volunteer, but I would encourage people to not be too shy and enjoy themselves!

孫が舞妓さんに会いたいとのリクエストで、リーズナブルな料金で素敵な時間を過ごす事が出来ました。
舞妓さんになって一年の梅さなさんですが、小さい時から習っていた踊りはさすがです。お話もお上手です。
お点前体験、お座敷芸と 中身の濃い内容でした。
舞妓さんと身近に会え、お話や記念写真も撮れて、お薦めのツアーです。

参加人数が少なく、まいこはんと、直接、コミュニケーションが取れてラッキーです。S席にして良かったです。

とっても可愛い舞妓さんで貴重な体験をさせていただきました。まだ、舞妓さんになって一年も経っていないとのことでしたが、踊りもお話もプロでした。また、必ず参加させていただきます。

素晴らしいショーでした！ダンサーたちは才能があり、コメディは面白かったです（演技が明確だったので、日本語が話せなくても内容がわかりました）。景色や衣装も美しかったです。座席は快適で、価格を考えると期待以上でした。劇場は見つけるのもそれほど難しくなく、京都の古いエリアであるポントチョにあります。このショーや似たようなものに参加することを強くお勧めします！

This was a great show! The dancers were talented, the comedy was funny (the acting was clear enough that I got the gist of it, despite not speaking any Japanese), and the scenery and costumes were beautiful. The seats were comfortable and better than I expected given the price. The theater wasn't too difficult to find and it's in the heart of Pontocho, which is an older area of Kyoto. I would highly recommend attending this show or similar if you get the opportunity!

So grateful we got to see this traditional experience. We had amazing seats and the performance was very unique. Definitely would recommend to others.

An amazing experience - one of the few opportunities to witness geiko and maiko perform. The dance was lovely and enchanting - a very uniquely Japanese experience.

Loved Maiko! She was young and cute.
The garden was very nice. The night view was just okay!

旅行前にオンラインで予約したので、何を期待すべきか分かりませんでした。しかし、すべてのレビューは正確で、素晴らしい体験でした。茶屋は祇園の主要な芸妓エリアの外にありますが、見つけるのはとても簡単です。私たちは5人家族でプライベートイベントを行い、これ以上のものは望めませんでした。私たちの舞妓さんはとても優しく、英語もとても上手で、美しい踊りと茶道を披露してくれました。大人数のグループや不必要な含まれ物、またはもっと高価な他のイベントを見た代わりに、このイベントを予約して本当に良かったです。このパフォーマンスと茶道は見習い芸妓（舞妓）とのものでしたが、私たちの家族が日本文化の魅力的で優雅な要素について観察し、学ぶには完璧でした。

We weren’t sure what to expect as I did this online before our trip. However, all the reviews are accurate - this was a great experience. The tea house is outside the main Geiko areas in Gion but it’s very easy to find. We ended up having a private event with our family of five and it could not have been better. Our Maiko was very sweet, spoke very good English, and performed a beautiful a dance and tea ceremony. Very happy we booked this event instead of others we saw elsewhere that had larger groups, unnecessary inclusions, or were much more expensive. Note this performance and tea ceremony were with an apprentice Geiko (Maiko) but it was perfect for our family to observe and learn more about such a fascinating and elegant element of Japanese culture.

以前都をどりを観に行った時は、お茶席でも舞妓さんの撮影ができましたが、今回は一番前の席になったのに、撮影禁止で残念でしたが、近くで観られて良かったです。お茶席の後休憩室ではお2人の可愛い舞妓さんの撮影ができたので、横に立って一緒に撮影することも可能です。メインの舞台は、お話もわかりやすく楽しめました。
をどり終了後すぐそばで5月の川床ランチも楽しめました。

全体的な体験は素晴らしかったです。スタッフはとても親切でプロフェッショナルでした。家族全員で行き、みんなで笑いながら写真撮影を楽しみました。着物のセレクションは美しく、ウィッグやアクセサリーも揃っています。この場所を強くお勧めします。メイクを落とす時に必要な素晴らしい商品もあります。他の場所では不必要な商品にお金を払わされることがありますが、この会社は必要なものをすべて提供してくれます。

The whole experience was amazing, the staff is super nice and professional, I went with my whole family and we all laughed and enjoyed the photo session, the selection of kimonos is beautiful, along side wigs and accessories, I highly recommend this place, they have also great products for when it’s time to take off the makeup, other places make you pay for unnecessary products, this company provides anything you need in order to perk up and take off :)

鴨川おどりのパフォーマンスは素晴らしいです。芸者の演技を見るのは信じられないほど素晴らしく、本当に一生に一度の体験です。茶道と写真撮影もとても良かったです。

私のチケットは前の方の席だったので、ずっと素晴らしい席で楽しむことができました。すべて日本語ですが（その本物感が好きです）、英語の短い要約があるプログラムがありました。

パフォーマンス自体はとてもよくできていて、シンプルですが美しいセットデザインと象徴的な芸者の衣装が印象的でした。

絶対に1) 京都に旅行し、2) 鴨川おどりに行くべきです（5月に来てください！）。

The Kamogawa Odori performance is fantastic. It's incredible to see Geisha's perform - truly a once in a lifetime experience. The tea ceremony and photo-op were also very nice.

My ticket was in the first couple of rows, so I had a great seat the whole time. Everything is in Japanese (which I prefer due to its authenticity) but they had a program that had a short synopsis in English.

The performance itself was very well done with simple but beautiful set design and the iconic Geisha dress.

You absolutely need to 1) Travel to Kyoto and 2) Go to Kamogawa Odori (come in May!)

お茶の立てかた、お座敷遊び、踊りの披露、近くで観ることができて、京都らしさをより一層味わうことが出来ました。
また、舞妓さんとの質疑応答は、めったに聞くことの出来ない事が聞けたので良かったと思います。
次回、別の誰かと来る時は、このツアーをお願いしたいと思っております。

VELTRAについては不安がありましたが、すべてが完璧でした！メールの確認がすぐに届き、クーポンの印刷物を見せてチケットと交換するのも簡単でした。場所の指示も正確でした。

ショー自体は非常に印象的で、美しい劇場空間で、まさに本格的でした。観光客だけでなく、質の高いパフォーマンスを楽しむためにおしゃれをした地元の人々もたくさんいました。

伝統的な日本の劇場を観たいなら、VELTRAのサービスを100%お勧めします。公式の劇場のウェブサイトよりもはるかに簡単です。

一つ注意点があります：対話はすべて日本語です。それが気になる方は、心を広げる必要があります。

それと、事前の土産物の押し売りは少し予想外でしたが、全体の体験を損なうものではありませんでした。

I wasn't sure about VELTRA... But everything went perfectly! Email confirmation arrived quickly; Easy to show the coupon printout and swap for tickets; Accurate location instructions.

The show itself was extremely impressive, in a beautiful theatre space, and absolutely authentic. Besides tourists, there were LOTS of locals all dressed up to enjoy a quality performance.

I would 100% recommend using VELTRA's service if you want to see traditional Japanese theatre - so much easier than the official theatre website.


One caveat: dialogue is all in Japanese. If that bothers you, you need to broaden your mind.

Oh, and the barrage of souvineers beforehand was a little unexpected - But nothing that could possibly diminish the overall experience.

Great experience! A real geiko and maiko show in pontocho

この体験は本当に楽しかったです。大勢の参加者にお茶とお茶菓子が提供され、美しく着飾った舞妓が茶道の準備を行いました。その後、二人の舞妓の写真を撮ることができました。パフォーマンスには劇と一連の踊りが含まれ、美しい衣装で見事に演じられました。日本語は話せませんが、踊りの動きから何が起こっているのかはかなり理解できました。素晴らしい席でした。素晴らしい体験でした。

I really enjoyed this experience. A large group of attendees were served tea and a tea sweet while a beautifully dressed maiko performed the tea preparation part of the tea ceremony. Then we could take pictures of two maiko. The performance included a play and a series of dances that were beautifully performed in gorgeous costumes. Even though I don't speak Japanese, I still had a pretty good idea of what was going on from the dance movements. I had an excellent seat. Wonderful experience.

出張で何度も京都に訪れていて、寺社仏閣は一通り見ましたが、お座敷や舞妓さん、芸妓さんなどと接することには縁がなかったので、一度は体験したいと思い申し込みました。
時間は９０分と少し短いですが、料理とお酒が付き、気さくな舞妓さんでいろいろな質問にも答えてもらい、写真撮影も何回も応じてもらい、また、お茶屋などでは高額なことが、この料金で一通りの体験ができ、大変満足しています。
今回は、キャンセルがでたことと、季節柄、申込者が少ないことも重なり、５人の参加者でじっくり鑑賞できましたので、ラッキーでした。
また機会があれば申し込みたいと思います。

このパフォーマンスは忘れません。最初から最後まで見るのがとても興奮しました。パフォーマー、ショーの演出、セットはすべて素晴らしかったです。衣装も素晴らしかったです。少し残念だったのは、茶道がとても急いで行われたことです。私たちは急かされて入れられ、急かされて出され、これが何か特別な意味を持つのか疑問に思いました。

We will not forget this performance. It was exciting to watch from beginning to end. The performers, the show direction, the sets were all fantastic. The costumes were magnificent. There was a small downside, and that was the tea ceremony was very rushed. We were herded in and herded out, and this made us wonder why this was significant in any way.

We had a good time at the show. It was a small theatre and the show was not particularly grand, but it was a really nice and cosy performance. Loved it!

私たちは内容を理解できないことを知っていました。しかし、演劇自体、特に伝統的な踊りの第二部はとても美しく、セリフはあまりありませんでした。
茶道はとても急いでいて、甘いものを食べてお茶を飲むのが早く求められ、実際に芸者が「準備」する行為を十分に楽しむことができませんでした。
全体的に、参加して良かったと思っており、思い出に残る体験でした。しかし、長い茶道を期待するなら、他の場所に行くことをお勧めします。この茶道は5分もありませんでした。

The overall experience went well. This is basically the traditional Japanese play, it only happens in a few days in May, and it's not very touristy. Most people going were actual locals, dressed in kimono. There were a few tourists, dressed more casual, but very few.
We knew that we wouldn't understand any of it. But the play itself, more the second part with the traditional dancing, was very pretty, and didn't involve much dialogue.
The tea ceremony was very rushed, and you are expected to eat the sweet and drink your tea very fast, and couldn't enjoy properly the act of the geisha actually "preparing" it.
Overall, I am glad we did it, and it was an experience to remember. But if you expect a long tea ceremony, please go elsewhere. This one was no more than 5min.

茶道は急いで行われ、特に印象に残るものではありませんでしたが、お茶は本物の抹茶で、美味しいケーキがありました。ケーキの皿はお土産として持ち帰れます。
茶道の後に写真撮影をしましたが、まあまあでした。
パフォーマンスは素晴らしく、入場料の価値があります。非常にプロフェッショナルで、衣装も素晴らしく、生のオーケストラが演奏しています。
祇園エリアにいるなら、ぜひおすすめです。

The tea ceremony was rushed and a non-event but the tea was real macha with a delicious cake. You keep the cake plate as a souvenir.
We did the photo op after the tea ceremony - it was OK.
The performance is outstanding and well worth the price of admission. Very professional, exquisite costumed and live orchestra.
Highly recommend this if you are in the Gion area.

それは最高の文化体験の一つでした。日本語がわからなくても、私はそれを心から楽しみました。劇場で英語のあらすじを購入することができます。問題はなく、私はただチケットカウンターに行ってバウチャーを交換しました。

It was one of the best cultural experiences. Even though i dont understand Japanese I enjoyed it thoroughly. You can buy the English synopsis of the play at the theatre itself. I faced no problem and I just went to the ticket counter and exchanged the voucher.

京都の風物詩の鴨川踊りを初めてでよかった。舞子、芸子さんのきれいなこと。なかなか、本物の舞子、芸子さんを見れないので、同席の女性も感動されていました。
